    I don't have to.... Every time I use my iphone and scroll down the address bar disappears. I'm not saying safari on the iphone is anything great, just pointing out that it does just what you ask.... and yes, it is a neat trick. It would make surfing on any device that has a small screen more useable.

    Because they have better funded lobbyists... If you could provide more funding then i'm sure we could pass some legislation on your behalf to ensure that you too can state how your lottery non-winnings would push well into the billions...

    As far as all laws having Sunset clauses, I believe I've heard Penn (and teller) discuss that. He was wondering about the panic that would set in when the law outlawing murder expired and lawmakers would have to scramble to fit it...

    Another thought was that it would make Lawmakers concentrate so much on passing good laws that the crap ones would wither and die and never get renewed.

    of course in reality I think you'd see something like these 5000 page omnibus bills getting passed where noone ever read the whole thing, that would be filled with all kinds of BS...

    ah, there it is... broadband Internet access is not a commodity.

    if it were, you would have a choice in where to get it. _MOST_ places in the US have only one choice. there is very little real competition in that area.

    we need to have _choices_ (yes I know that some places have two options... Oh my!) call me when you have 3 or more.

    like the old days of Dial up, ISPs provided about the same bandwidth but had competition because you could switch around between usually 2 - 3 local and 2-3 national providers

    Right-click on My Computer, click on Properties, check the version number. Windows NT4 = 4 Windows 2000 = 5 Windows XP = 6 the next one = 7 -- So, Vista counts for nothing?.... interesting....

    I'm sure I can hear the marketing dept, or Lord Jobs, saying that they don't sell well. While I agree, hell I'd like to have one, I'd love to see what Apple could do around a 12 inch or smaller design. All solid state? maybe an 80gb hb from an ipod slow but tiny, with 3gb RAM? I'd just like to see them try...

    I've had glasses and contacts, and I wear contacts because I never have to deal with losing my glasses, or having them drop into the box I'm working on etc...

    You are going to have try some pairs to see if any of them are comfortable TO YOU.

    Ask your doc to let you try different ones until you find a kind that works for you.

    You may find that the answer is NONE OF THE ABOVE.

    Saddly, no. (tin-foil hat on please)... Since it was the DOJ who allowed the anti-trust suit to basicly die. There is a very low likelyhood that they would NOW see this as a RICO issue.


    Since there are many compeeting paid and free AV and Spyware programs there is in fact compitition.


    MS is only trying to further open the market to more competion.


    That said I need to update my Avast, er AVG, er ClamWin...

    I would think that this would be aimed for people who have a specific problem that would overwelm your current setup and is more of a one off, or infrequent large problem.

    Think of the times when you would need a supercomputer for just a few hours...
    like an old mainframe setup without most of the headaches.

    I rather think IMHO the correct question is "WHO has the best support."

    If his MS folks are to feel good about this, pick the distro with the best support. phone, email, in person, or web.
