The only thing I can think of, is that it offers insight into the pulse of the youth community. Think of it as a gigantic data mining tool. They can know what is popular by running some queries.
Exactly. The only problem is that you can't turn the home theater system as loud as you want without waking them. Unless you are lucky enough to have a kid who can sleep through anything.
Or, you could try watching a G rated flick once in a while. Most of the Pixar movies are quite entertaining for children and adults.
Funny thing about GCN. xbox sales have very much slowed down since the 360 came out, while the GCN sales are still coming in at a few thousand a week. I wonder if it would be possible for GCN to "catch up" to the xbox, since the 360 came out so early?
In my mind, the gamecube came in 2nd place because they actually turned a profit.
SVG though is important to the website, I suppose I could use something gay like flash or java, but I really wanted this to be a pure site. I thought that it would mean that it was Firefox only. Some friends chided me into trying to make it work with Opera and Konq though...
Wow! Flash and Java have a sexual preference? Or do you simply mean that they are happy? (I hear that Java will get it on with Windows, Linux, BSD and Macintosh! Oh Baby! Java even goes for those 64 bit hotties.)
I agree with this 100%. I've known far too many people who are not well off who are very intelligent. Sharp sharp people. However, they are at a huge disadvantage when it comes to education. Most of them ended up dropping out of school for financial reasons, and they end up stuck without a way to advance.
On a side note, people living in povery usually do not have proper medical care. I could definitely see the average IQ of this segment being lower than the average of a middle class segment. When you have nothing to live for, vices are easier to fall into. Alcohol, drugs, etc.. this plus poor nutrition leads to children with mental and physical problems.
I think I had 26 Djinn when I finished. I didn't use a guide, and just found them while exploring. I think you do have to backtrack to get some of them, but I kept a mental list of places that I could not get by with my current powers. Once I had the power that I needed, I just went back and fetched them.
I still have no idea where the two I missed are. I should look in the guide and find them.
If you feel like finishing the game, I would go back and find a few more djinn!
You must not have enough Djinn, or are aligning them wrong. I didn't have any trouble with the last guy. Align Earth to you, Fire to Isaac, Wind to Ivan and Water to Mia. You will have much better stats. I was short 1 Djinni, but the last guy was still pretty easy if you use your powers correctly. One djinn in particular is incredibly useful, since it blocks almost all damage. Unfortunately, it has been quite some time since I played, so I don't remember their name. You get it right before you go to crossbone island.
If you made it to crossbone island, the enemy at the very bottom of the mine is much harder than the last guy.
This is a transcript of a Nintendo Press Summit. It is press/marketing, so take of it what you will.
They analyze console growth, and figure that the growth of the industry has been consistant with population growth, and multiple console ownership. Additionally, according to a study by Piper Jalfray, the number of gamers in the male 10-14 bracket are spending less time playing games. The group of young boys that will be feeding into the 10-14 bracket is down 8-10% from previous generations, so the future target market is smaller than before.
1. So, from a bystander, it may feel as if the biggest market is the older crowd. It's not. The largest segment of the market (young boys) is shrinking simply because there are less young boys.
2. There are more consoles in households today, but the penetration is less than it was with the 8 bit NES. Obviously PC penetration is pretty high, but PC's are used for more than games. I don't know how this fits into the calculations.
Gloom and doom? I don't know. Like I said, it was a press conference. After reading it, I do think that they have a point. Time will tell!
WPA is definitely undersupported in the market right now. If you have a windows pc, you could use the Nintendo wifi dongle. It's pretty cheap, and it will allow you to use the wifi connection of coffee shops and other places that require you to sign in with a web browser first as well.

Another good one!
I don't think Microsoft would be a fat moose. Maybe a somewhat attractive lady, but you can't shake the feeling that "she" is a "he" under that skirt.
It's a good thing!
I'm pretty sure they want to make money through software sales. I think the PSP is sold close to at cost, or even at a loss.
It would be in their best interest to keep people from using the hardware for other purposes.

Yes, forget the date. Double the popcorn, though!
You don't want to know where the female players keep their ping pong balls. Or how they serve, for that matter.

Perhaps the message was actually addressed to "null@vtext.com" by OnStar?
Who says the message was addressed to "@vtext.com".
I am guessing that the OnStar beta system actually sent the message to "null@vtext.com"
If such a name is going to cause problems, Verizon should not have permitted him to choose that name.
Look out for Legionnaire's Disease, though!

I'd say he's still "black".
I know plenty of people who prefer to be called "black", rather than "African American."
Their reason? Their family was not from Africa. Most of them were from Trinidad, or other places that were "Not Africa."
People can call me "White", and it's not a big deal, or derogatory. It would be strange being called "Irish Hungarian American"
If you are black and not from Africa, does the term "African American" bug you?
Perhaps you are female?
Oh wait, this is slashdot.

I know (sadly) plenty of people who leave their home page to the browser default. For IE this is MSN.
For someone to have any other portal (with IE), it is usually because of an action they have taken.
Thanks for the info!
Does B&N have an affiliate program? Looking at the purchase link, I see it passing an encoded userid.
I'm just wondering if someone is trying to make a buck off of this.
That's why the Bird Flu is a good thing.

I'm guessing 2010.
