This looks awesome, but how long before the RIAA starts feeding copyrighted music into the system and then gets it shut down? Things like this have to be their worst nightmare.
Even for/. that statement seems a bit paranoid. I doubt that the RIAA would try to entrap people that are legally trading music the RIAA doesn't own when they have plenty of people actually illegally trading music they can go after.
OK, so we had stun pilots training for 5 years, couldn't they dive in ala James Bond with their own parachutes, grab the capsule and use their own parachutes to slow down it's fall? I mean, if they get movie people, wouldn't it work like that in real life.
Except that the spacecraft would have been at a few thousand degrees. I guess Q would have had to stitch up an asbestos tux.
Links to the bleeding edge 1.8 Alpha versions are not immediately apparent...why?
That was the first thing I noticed, I'd have to guess they are trying to go more mainstream and make downloading their brower less ambiguous for the masses.
How much have you donated to open source in the last year? Money or talent?
I have actually donated about US$40 this year. I'd give more but that's about all I can afford to give. As for talent, I'm afraid I am lacking there (for now at least) but I hope to one day be able to help out at least a little.
...but why am I supposed to hate Word? Seems a decent product and the sharepoint shared workspaces has turned out to be real popular with my users.
If you already have Word/Office, then you shouldn't hate it. However, if you don't have it and can't afford it, then you may need an alternative. I personally can't afford MSOffice, so I go with OOo.
I would assume that they would use off-ramp type of turn lane and just adjust the traffic the same way for the cars entering the new direction of travel as they do for the intersections. No one says you have to make only 90deg. turns at the intersection (unless of course you plan on installing this system at existing intersections with no road modification). Howev,er there is still the problem of dogs, stalls, breakdowns and the like.
It would make sense that the dogs that could understand their masters best would be the one that would be bred and thus their genes would be passed on. So maybe it's natural selection.
I hope this doesn't surprise anyone. Seeing as how altruism is rarely profitable, this is exactly what I expected to hear sometime about an adware removal program.
I want to know when it was decided that all the most annoying technology would be crammed into one device and then given to basically any idiot. I sure didnt vote on that.
" Seriously. Mentioning it on/. won't do anything."
No wonder my litigation is moving so slowly!
I think we all owe a debt to D&D....

it paved the way for my favorite game, Knights of the Old Republic and really, the whole genre. Makes me want to dust off the ol' board and get the gang back together for another all night game.

And here I thought it was another UFO..
Can you say cover-up?

I live in Gville/go to UF. What do you want to do?

I just get a warez copy of MS Office.
I did that for a while but I decided that I'd be much happier if I used free software and supported the open source community, if only in a small way.

The article said the program took in to account idle times and took no screenshots during periods of inactivity.
Now that should be an Olympic event.
Maybe at the geek Olympics.
I wouldn't trust Sony's products farther than I could throw them.
Do you realize how far you could throw a mini-disc?

Here's the Google cache: google.
And if a gmail invite would calm you down, I'll give you one :)
You know, I've been a bit on edge lately too. I'd take one. my email
Or just a movie to show how it ends (a cure is found somehow, blah blah blah).
Hey! Maybe we know the same guy! What a small world.
Incorrect. You have given a prime example of artificial selection...
;)
I stand corrected. I love pedantry.

Weird, I always thought the first amendment was more "powerful" than the second one... Depends on who's holding to gun.
Reminds me of the Sega Game Gear of so long ago.
I'd say they are better, its much harder to reverse engineer than to engineer.
