    yes, not on secondhand goods, but its 10% tax when its sold wholesale, and another 10% when its sold retail, and all the parts required to make something are 10% more so the final price increases a lot more than 10%

    but thats the sneaky beauty of the GST its 10%, but thats 10% each time its sold which adds up to more than 10% for most things and everyone thinks they're only paying 10% more

    Kingdom Hearts, from what i've seen the only tv/movie liscenced game that was actually a great piece of work on its own, i really enjoyed it and i hate disney stuff, but my partner loves it, whereas i love square stuff and she had never been exposed to it, and we both started to develop a like for the other side of the liscence. anyone know of any others that succeeded?

    interestingly enough, if you reverse the direction it gives you a much more correct route without any ferrys or international borders and takes only 10 hours rather than 47 hours. maybe there's a lot of one way streets?

    while i am a lover of the books and was disappointed not to see the scouring of the shire and tom bombadil my biggest disappointment with the films was the lack of GORE!!! this is peter jackson directing this, the director of Braindead (aka dead-alive) and bad taste, yet the movie had almost no gore, oh what it could have been... imagine all those huge battles with blood and severed limbs and brain juice spurting everywhere. *sigh* it could've been beautiful...

    One word... Linux.
    Forget buying anything, lets face it... we want the cheap alternative. ;)
    I do this a LOT - a nice stable Slackware 9.1, if its got funny hardware (or slower) nice fresh 2.6 kernel. Sure, you may have to resort to KDE/Gnome (LONG LIVE FLUXBOX!)... but they'll have a neary undestructable system - free of M$ based viruses and lets face it, honestly... just as easy 2 use but harder to fuck up!
    Its mother, father, girlfriend and her little brother compliant and protected! Chuck in Armagetron ;), OOffice and firebird - and you got a system that even I would be honored to glue my self to on during the family bbqs!
    Tux is your friend....

    I would have to agree with you guys, but not just books 'acidently' dropped on an enemy... I can mention numerious times that M$ has sent me into a nice little killing spree b/c of that pretty blue screen that we have all begun to love. ;)

Like "we will have better ram managenet, over time to stop crashes" and the countless other claims. ~buys dual AMD64 3ghz processors, 1.5g DDR ram, radeon 128m agp 8x card and then STILL gets lagged by that NASTY lookin GUI!~

    I personally think that though the database comes across as a negative step in our already decaying society - it may be a good idea. Ok.. hear me out here people. I strongly disagree with people being targeted for the rest of their natural lives for wanting compensation from malpractice - however wouldn't it be far more appropriate if they ONLY listed those who's claims were rejected in court? I own a small web designing company, and I assure you as it is with most businesses - i want to know if people are gonna attempt to rip me off or not. Same thing applies to doctors. Then again... this is just another Aussie babbling.
