Wow! You're paying twice for the Netflix account? In order to use the Netflix feature on the XBox, the user needs the Live! account? I'm glad I've got the Wii (even if it did come out months after the XBox or Playstation versions).
This sounds like one of my university classes... from 4 years ago. Our uP class was teaching us how to build a main board, memory management and how it plugs into the CPU, etc. Our uP was the Motorola 68000. We were using about the second or third generation. There were some extra registers and some advanced memory management on the 4th gen stuff that we didn't get.
That was the class I looked most forward to doing, unfortunately, my team wasn't so hot. Bread board, 100+ wires all over, not a pretty sight.
I also have to concur. I emailed the Portal team, telling them how I had solved a puzzle different from how they had intended the user to do the puzzle. I received a positive response. It was nice, considering the amount of e-mails they receive.
And, if either of these nuggets are used during an argument or debate, then that discussion is over. It is likely the person using the statement has used it in a way to say, "I'm tired of this discussion, let's move on." Sort of a jestful Godwin's Law.
During 2009-2010, PAYGO was a nice thought, but we'll just make this one exception.. er, two exceptions... er, nevermind, we'll just exempt PAYGO on all spending bills we really REALLY want to shovel down the public throat.
While I'm of a right-sided bent, I agree with most of what you said. (I just hope you aren't calling Bush a liar for saying Iraq had WMDs... 20/20 is near perfect at this point, Saddam was more worried about Iran and wanted to keep up appearances, this just irked the rest of the world enough... and with much of the security admins around the world agreeing that Iraq had these weapons,... it wasn't just Bush saying it.)
It's all just entertainment. Warring pundits with shiny infographics and scripted diatribes screaming about how one side or the other is going to ruin the nation.
I suppose you could listen to Glenn Beck - he says both sides are going to ruin the nation!
Well, the fact that they lied about what the bills were about... or rather, failed to say what was in the bill (trust us! you'll like it after we pass this $1 trillion monstrosity), is one long-term detriment.
It's is true, Bush got us into a couple of wars, but Obama's inaction in certain areas are going to bring us near a WW3 scenario. It's either that or Israel gets wiped off the map in a few days by Iran. (For Bible reading/believing types - see Revelations for a counter argument.)
I disagree. The reason McCain didn't win (among the many) is that the voting R's put their party's feet to the fire. They're still doing it with the anti-incumbency movement. Perhaps, in your opinion, Bush wasn't held all that accountable for the crap he pulled was because he was really trying to cater to the left with his domestic policies.
Right, and English is a funny language. He probably could have been more explicit by stating "So Americans can't buy them in America". But, IANAL, I think goods that would normally be illegal to purchase in the USA also cannot be transported into the USA (despite all the fake Gucci, fOakleys, Cubans, etc that make it here from China).
It really is a hassle. I charge a flat rate to do an OS reinstall even though I know I will usually get less for the time I spent on it than what my hourly charge is advertised as. But I'm in to treating my customers right. Still, there are times when even that price is too much for them and they'd rather get a new computer. (and as a good business person, I offer to transfer files for them.)
The nice thing about the Citicard VANs is that they have a nice little application that integrates with Firefox and IE to auto-fill the fields for you. I've found that functionality to be spotty, but at least I can drag and drop the numbers into the right place.
In some cases, yes. In my case, no. They said we don't negotiate, make your decision. So I did, they lost a valuable asset and I got paid better by switching.
I agree, $60 is too much for me to feel good about paying. Especially for that game. I've spent $40 on the Warcraft III bundle and I didn't quite get my money's worth from it. RTS's aren't for me, I guess.
OTH, I paid $20ea for the Elder Scrolls games (Morrowind and Oblivion). I probably should have paid $60 for those because I've gotten at least that much value out of the game. Likewise for the Valve packs that I've purchased. Boy, does Valve do things right (for the most part). It was really a sad day when Blizzard sold out to Activision.
And then there are the flash games. In my opinion there are some really good flash games that appear on armorgames.com every once in awhile. (Check out Sonny and Sonny 2)
I guess you value your time less. In my opinion, it is far easier to change your number once than to have to dispute a dozen charges every month.
Yes, the CC company should recognize the fraudulent charges. But how are they to recognize the fraud when the charges are being made to different, potentially, legit companies. At that point, the charges look legit and it is up to you to dispute. Which, in my experience, means calling the CC company, taking at least 15 minutes to wait for a rep, have them take your info, have them upsell you on 3 different products and another 5 minutes to write, print, and mail the letter.

I tell you what... after 6 or 7 months it really starts to show!

For as long as we have upskirt/ downshirt perves out there.
Perhaps he's a consultant for the show Burn Notice.

Or, how about the Swedish authorities dropping charges at the behest of undisclosed dirt with which Assange has blackmailed them.
I thought Portal was already really, really easy to finish.

The tubes were clogged because of an accident at the junction... Was Drew around at the time?
Maybe, but I wonder how hard it would be to fudge the number since the stats are kept locally.
Granted, I suppose they could track the computer that states they've had 10.04 up and running for 1,000,037 days.

That's what they keep telling those politicians, military men, hairdressers, financial consultants, and telephone cleaners.

That would be a crime against humanity!!
:)
and torture
and, perhaps terrorism
or would installing Linux be the torture part?

150k/yr in NYC, is around $60k/yr in St. Louis. It's nice, just not respectable for a developer with a masters and/or PhD.

The code is all there... we just need to learn how to read it.
