I completely agree. I want my phone to be a phone. I don't necessarily need it to be a camera, PIM, game platform, messenger service, etc. It's too small for that and the buttons too tiny.
Now, I will take a PIM (like a Palm device, with decent handwriting recognition, not the abomination that Grafitti 2 was) that also happens to be a phone, game platform, messenger service, etc... especially if it comes with bluetooth and/or 802.11a/b/g/n.
Sorry about making my response political, but your post reminds me of:
I hate Bush, so I want the war in Iraq to fail.
I hate Obama, so I want the economy to fail.
It's the whole crab pulling the other down to prevent escape from certain death. Why is it so hard for people to grasp the concept of failure and death? If a company or system is failing, let it die, if the concept was good, it will be reborn. Let its mistakes be revealed so that we can all learn and grow from them. People will not be able to grow and improve if we all keep making the same mistakes over and over.
History, it's not just a school topic.
/me avoided from getting too philosophical about death, resurrection, etc... whew.
The problem is that even if we do wake up, the people do not have the power to do anything about it. The socialist democrats that are in power will make sure of it. The republicans, who want the same power, will let the dems do the dirty work and blame them (but not do anything to reverse it).
I don't know why, but I was thinking about this type of situation earlier today. My thoughts went thus:
me: I want to see the pictures of my wife's accident. Officer in charge: I'm sorry, they are very gruesome and I can't let you do that. me: I don't care. I want to see them, so that if I find them floating out on the Internet, I can recognize them and know exactly who to come for.
Very strange that. I doubt my wife will be in an accident any time soon... she's currently in the hospital on strict bed rest (crazy pregnancy).
Prossor: But you did see the notice, didn't you? Arthur Dent: Oh, yes. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign outside the door saying "Beware of the Leopard." Ever thought of going into advertising?
There is nothing wrong with viewing the human body. Doctors do this all the time. However, to display the human body for sensual and/or shock value is degrading to the beauty that is the human body.
Actually, as a conservative first, I would say that McCain would only be different in that the world and media would hate him for his strong national defense stance or because he's on the opposite side of Democrat, but his national policies (economy, etc) would not be very different from Obama's (with the exception of taxes and turning this country into a socialist economy).
Likewise, how will they get paid if no one knows about the content? For many people, sites like Fark and others make the drab news a little more interesting.
Now, I can understand going after sites that reproduce too much or all of the content. But going after link sites is silly (the originator still gets their ad revenue from non AdBlock users.)
I was thinking the same thing... How was anyone at work at 2200 hours? Aren't they all supposed to stop working after 6 hours and only have 4 day work weeks?
That's why one should work for a computer games magazine. That way they can have the publisher pay for the points. But, then, I guess you'd have to write an article or something.
Last I checked there were about 5 television stations that broadcast poker championships (ESPN, ESPN2, A&E,...) And, people watch that even though that is an easy game to play (note my choice of words, it's not an easy game when you throw in the human dynamic).
In any case, I enjoy watching poker because it is interesting to see the tough decisions a person has to make with money on the line. Likewise, in computer gaming, the player has to make a virtual life-or-death decision to win the game, that may also win or lose him/her a lot of money. I find that interesting.
Also, as someone mentioned before, I also watch games I play (I don't play poker, btw) to improve my skills, whether it be racquetball, basketball, or computer gaming. Though, none of these skills will ever be truly useful to me, hehe. (Except maybe computer gaming... I almost became a sponsored gamer years ago, but chose to do IT work instead, not as exciting, but more mind expanding, imo.)
That's just it, don't run GIS with safe search turned off. Now, there are times when the moderate search will return undesirable results. I'm not going to try penny while at work;)

I'm reminded of similar situations in HHGTTG. Long dead civilizations that have left their junk and messages behind, just to annoy everyone.

It's a problem with some clowns not taking their job seriously
Truly. You'd think that this type of thing would be equal to HIPAA

What they won't have is the non-R rated version. And that's the one I'd be interested in watching.
(So many good movies ruined by gratuitous violence and unnecessary nudity.)
The adult learner does have resources available to them to learn and become educated... it's just that a degree does not follow the course.
Here's a plug for my favorite "Listen to a highly rated professor" series: The Teaching Company

Apparently, you don't know much about the ship full of salesman, accountants, military, and public phone cleaners.
Addiction: I don't think that word means what you think it means...
What do you mean? The current administration is doing their best to change "Corporate American Culture".
/I'll take the hit
Having talked with some guys who came back from Iraq, the insurgents use the spray and pray method of shooting their guns. Very inaccurate.

It's a joke, laugh.
Since when does a politician have to have experience to make an overreaching decision?
(Now to dig a little at the current US political situation...) Or to have any experience to get elected?
/me wants to start ranting, but bites his tongue instead.
Oh, you want me to continue to join you guys on raids? Sorry, I have no time left.

That's the best old english I've seen written in a long time. Most of the time I see someone try to speak "Bible" on a forum, they fail miserably.

Not exactly the solution for a tweaker/updater or those who like to be on the front-line of motherboard tech (when BIOS patches are necessary).
What should it say?
WWWEEEEEEEeeeeee---gack!
