Really? Has Microsoft really made back 5 years of development effort from Vista sales? I find it hard to believe with most sales coming from bundled (i.e. low profit) type sales.
Wow, I guess I get the important parts of this with my Linux Server running BackupPC. Every night I get incremental backups, single fulls a week. Oh, add on the NFS share and it stores files. Add on the HDHomerun to record all my TV shows via MythTV.
Actually, I'm finally at a work place where the IT department isn't F this and GD that. Frankly, I like it. You emulate those that you are around the most. I actually enjoy an environment that doesn't reward those talking like a salty sailor.
Acceleration through gravity has nothing to do with terminal velocity. It describes how fast the falling body reaches its terminal velocity. The speed at which it will fall is where the forces from gravity meet the countering forces from air resistance. The payload will accelerate to a very fast speed at altitude, but slow down gradually as the density of air increases and therefore the air resistance increases. This is not a situation when you can do simple calculus with 9.81 m/s^2 and ignore air resistance.
Most of the time it can be more affordable to buy a new car. A $500 car is going to cost you a few grand a year in maintenence.
Sorry, I hear that argument a lot and it isn't true. Unless you get a true lemon, it is NEVER MORE AFFORDABLE to buy a new car. Say a new car cost $300/month. That works out to $3600 a year. A few grand. If you spend a grand or two on maintenance for a used car, you are still ahead dollar wise. Your statement is only true if you put a not before "more affordable". I have a 96 Nissan Maxima, top of the line, heated seats, Bose sound, power sun/moon roof, leather. I paid $4500 for it. I have paid $1000 for maintenance and oil changes, etc. for 2.5 years of ownership. FAR cheaper than new for a great running, driving, looking car.
You do not need to do this realtime. It downloads the encrypted signal to a 160 Gb hard drive. Then it probably chews on the encrypted piece to decrypt it on the hard drive at less than real time. If that is the case, then a vulerability would be in the decrypted files on the drive.
That works GREEEAAAT. [rolls eyes] I got the free trial to Movielink. Downloaded a movie. Used FRAPS to record it off the Windows Media Player video overlay, to see if it would work. Recompressed the uncompressed recorded video. Then uninstalled their crappy hardware and deleted the videos.
You are absolutely right. What I hate is that Americans are too stupid to understand that you can buy quality items and spend less money than buying cheap ones which you have to replace regularly.
I didn't misread the article. I know that he stated boiling an egg as opposed to cooking it. That is why I replied about the quote. It was STUPID to use boiling an egg as an analogy. Those who do not really understand state changes and relationships between them and temperature and pressure would think that cooking and egg is the same at 100C on the surface and 350C underground. THAT is the problem. He should have left the egg out of it and just mentioned BOILING WATER PERIOD.
As for incompressibility, I'm not totally sure. Every egg that I have boiled had a small air pocket. I do no know if this is because of the slight reduction in volume of the contents during the cooking of the protein, or if that exists with an egg in the liquid state. If it exists, I would have to believe that an egg would at the very least crack at 1100 psi.
At depth, the groundwater is way over 100C, but the pressure keeps it liquid. As Dr Friedleifsson puts it: "On the surface, you boil your egg at 100 degrees; but if you wanted to boil your egg at a depth of 2,500m, it would take 350."
Sorry, but I HATE stupid analogies that only help make stupid people reading them, dumber. It would take 350C for the water to boil, but non-boiling 100C water will "boil" and egg just fine. It is a good thing that 340C water isn't hot enough to burn you down there, because it isn't "boiling". Sheesh....
Lets see, pressure of water to boil at 350C is around 1100 psi (guess from extending this chart). So the question is, can an egg in a shell withstand 1100 psi to even be boiled?
Yep, cross cut shread everything that I throw away that even might have encriminating data. If you are more paranoid, you can keep a burn bag of the shreaded stuff.
Do a search for mod chips. I use the X3. This allows me to put all my XBox games in a box and not have to wait for them to load. I select them from a menu and run them. To make storage for games, you will need to add a new hard drive. I wouldn't go back. Changing games? Just hold both triggers and select (I think) and you reboot back into the menu system and start another game.
Actually, C# IS Java, as far as syntax. Other than methods that interface with their respective libraries, the code is exactly the same. We converted lines and lines of business logic code from Java to C#. Changed import (is that what it is in Java?, I forget) to using and we were done. Compiled and ran.
I'm currently convincing people around me that learning C# is better. Having to maintain VB6 apps and VB.Net apps will drive us crazy. I would rather have a distinct difference so people don't forget what they are writing and not use StringBuilders in VB.Net or try to in VB6.
I've offered to buy back the DVD set from any friend who bought it and didn't love it. I haven't had to shell out any cash yet. In fact, some people thanks me for urging them to buy it. You could also rent it.
Well, to be honest I first replied that Fox needed to make room for "When Animals Attack Young Midget Moms", but I eventually asked that. The answer was, "No one I knew at the time had even heard of it." We should be watching Season 4 now.:(
It doesn't have to be the same person voting over and over. The browncoats are many and strong.:) But I also believe it stands up to the hype. After watching them with my girlfriend who had not even seen the series, she asked me "Why in the world did they cancel this?"
It can't with the milk solids as part of it. Clarified butter is made for this purpose. It contains only the fats and none of the water or milk solids. This is often used in pan frying for flavor and CAN stay at the temperatures required. The reason it isn't used is cost. And the fact that the movie going public doesn't care about quality.
I know my iPod goes everywhere, but my iPod USB cable definitely doesn't go with it. However, my Gig USB drive goes everywhere too. And it doesn't need a cable.

And it was free. As in speech and beer.
Oh, yeah. And it works.
But with the falling dollar, that is $499 US, right?

The problem being that he isn't the ONLY one who wrote the code. Would all authors have to agree?
If you download the Google videa file (*.gvi) and rename to an .avi, most players will play it.

AKA: Alt + Fn + ki7 and Alt + Fn + ki8 and your laptop. :(

No clue. Never watched Buffy or Angel.
