...We finally figured out how we can take back our land that was given to Israel. It's quite simple actually, we just pirate Episode III, and the U.S. government will become so wrapped up in finding out who did it, they'll completely forget the Middle East actually exists.
You really expect people who don't even know how computers work to go out of their way to get a new browser when they have no clue why they would need it? Not only did IE come standard on all the Windows OSes, it also came on OS 9. If Firefox or some other alternative browser can standard, and people had to download IE in order to use it, that browser would have 90%+ market share.
Until Firefox starts coming on computers instead of/in addition to IE, there's no way it's going to have 90%+ market share.
I drive either a Jetta or a Fiero. Neither of them have power windows, ABS, etc. The Fiero doesn't even have power steering. Both have a 5 speed manual transmission.
I've never had any problems repairing stuff, mainly because of having things like a 5 speed, crank windows, etc.
People don't really need a computer to run their cars for them. If 90% of people are running unstable computers (Windows), do they really need things to make them drive worse?
Sure, having a computer with a DVD Nav unit is nice and all, but computers shouldn't be driving cars when half the people on the road can't even do it well.
The resolution of the video is listed as 1280x720. My 12" 1.2GHz G4 iBook (one of the new all white ones w/ AE and stuff built in) has a max screen res of 1024x768.
Did you just resize the window and make them smaller to fit on screen? I don't have QT 7, so I don't know if it work, but does making the video full-screen size it down to your screen?
Now if I'm typing something online, and hit Command+Shift+Left/Right, it will actually select everything from where I am to the beginning of the line, just like it does in TextEdit and most other apps.
I like it a lot more than when I would hit it and it would switch tabs, even though I was typing something in a text box.
This isn't a troll either, because I'm going to comment on the actual article.
I don't see why anyone would spend the money on something like that. It's like buying a Mac Mini, and then buying a bunch of upgrades for it. If you're going to buy something like that, it makes more sense to get a bigger, well ventilated case, and not go with something that small.
All hipsters have to have a VW and a Mac. This isn't a flame, I own both a VW and a Mac.
I've also seen this done in a Lexus, but not nearly as integrated. It was more or less a Mini put in the glove box and then hooked up to a fold out LCD screen.
The biggest question that needs to be asked in this situation is - Is the GTi a 1.8T or a VR6?
It's free as in the beer you get for free if you pay $2 to get into a party that has free beer once you get inside.
I'll be in Ann Arbor, but what about lip syncing?

It says on your website that you have a meeting about preserving your voice, is this a joke? Are you really having problems or foreseeing problems with your voice? Am I going to see an SNL Ashlee Simpson type ordeal happen at your show at the Blind Pig?
Next time we attack a country and then the public finds out there was no evidence behind the attacks, they won't have to get Britain to cover for them.
They can just get a guy with a nerdy voice to go up to the podium and say "OMG WTF OUR DATA WAS HAX0RED."
I was really interested in the idea of a phone/iPod(Shuffle) combo when I first heard about it. I figured that Motorola and Apple could really make something happen, especially with the work that was going on with the Shuffle. Sadly enough, this seems to be more of a phone with 32mb of storage tacked on.
With the size of the iPod Shuffle, and the low price, you would think they could cut it in half, remove the buttons (the controls would be software based on the phone), and stick it inside a phone.
I was waiting to upgrade my phone until the new Apple/Motorola stuff came out, because I was looking forward to a phone that would work with the Bluetooth on my iBook, and also would serve the purpose of an iPod Shuffle, all in one. Sadly enough, it looks like I'll be carrying my Shuffle and a cell phone around separately, because I never go anywhere without either of them now.
I guess I'll just buy a small clamshell phone with Bluetooth on it, and tape my iPod Shuffle to it.
Of course, there's a big difference between a college guy coming home and hooking up with a girl who he grew up with, and an adult trolling the playgrounds.
Yeah, but if he was trolling around the playground, he would just get modded -1, and all the parents would just set their kids' thresholds at +1 or something, and they wouldn't go near him.;)
So far, I've seen 3 comments or so backing up why someone suggested a certain distro.
I think a better idea for you would to go buy a $50 (after rebate) 120gb hard drive, partition it 10 ways, and then try out 10 different distros.
Sure, it'll take more time than asking/. and will require a bit more cash, but you'll probably get a better feel for all the things you like or dislike in the distros you try. What says that if you take the advice of someone on/., you'll get the best one for you? Chances are, you'll try what someone says, and not anything else, and miss out on a distro that really suits your needs.
What, you expect me to call Jesus a liar?
ps - funny, not troll.

...bang for the buck...
If you're a PimpDaddy, maybe you can tell me how much bang I could get for my buck?
You just saw it?
I thought everyone on Slashdot saw it opening night at midnight.

...a sack of cement-impregnated fabric. To erect the structure, ...
I thought it went
1) Erect the structure
2) Impregnate
3) Profit?
At least we got some neat videogames out of the Matrix trilogy.
I thought KOTOR was quite good. Without Star Wars, it wouldn't be out.
That was definitely not a troll.

...Shuttle are being a bit coy about the whole affair, despite the fact that they have the syystem on show.
Come on, I hate reading things with errors like those. A bit of proofreading would be nice.
It's an MK4 though. It's either a 1.8T, VR6, or a lame 2.0.

At least that excuse is believable.

And I restarted BitTorrent, and now I've got 13 peers. Disregard that last comment. Still going kind of slow, though.
