They made us change our guild name due to the fact it had the word Kampf in it. Kampf is german for struggle or fight (I think) but since someone wrote a book called Mein Kampf at one time they made us change it...
Wait! Taco, I didn't know there was a Linux Distro of WoW?
And a dollar short. Good Enterprises has had this technology for several years available on both the Palm and PPC platforms. It frankly kicked the crap out of BES....

They know shiat doesn't work right.. The response from them isn't only appropriate but also clear:
"The whole point of doing a developer beta is to identify potential rendering breakages and changes and resolve them before we hand out IE7 to the broader marketplace. We are working actively to identify any issues with actual rendering problems and resolving those. This beta is one part of that mission."
So in other words, thanks for the feedback and stop finding shit just to bitch about. This site used (USED) to be an intelligent (even funny) discussion of technology. Not 'let's bash MS' for everything that happens...
So someone prove me wrong, what's the electricity cost of running a CPU at full cycles for a year vs. running at typical load?
I don't know. I turn mine off at night, but then I'm a cheap bastard.
As a home worker who has had VOIP (Vonage) in their house for over a year let me be the first to say that while this technology is great if you don't want to run up your cell phone minutes or your POTS LD bill it's still anything but mature. I have consistent issues with my VOIP phone from internet lag effecting the quality of a call to their NOC having power outages (no backup power apparently). Until VOIP can achieve the seamless integration that POTS does along with 4 9's in uptime, it's a nice alternative for people with specific needs but it won't kill the traditional POTS line into the house...
Oh and by the way.. I live in Florida and went thru the hurricanes last year. Cell had no service for about a week. I had no power so therefore no VOIP AND while every other utility save water was not working, my POTS line was...
Not only is Lake Eola a bad place to put Wi-Fi access (jogging, playing with the dog etc) it's really not somewhere I would imagine you would actually WANT to browse the net or check your email.. Picture this.. I nice lake, soft moonlight, you and your girl (oh wait, this is slashdot scratch the girl!) with a bottle of wine... and your laptop!
Right... We also need wi-fi at hooters.... Cause I want to check my email there
Concur. I thought until recently that 'stuff for geeks' only applied if it turned into a way to bash a software company or show how smart you are by belittling someone. Nice article...
Actually Office 2003 adds a bunch of functionality in the way of adding support to other MS products. Integration with Sharepoint server for example would be one example. OO.o is a nice alternative for Office in the home/school environment but the OO.o 'killer' will be the collaborative functionality that is built into the product.
I found it at least interesting to get a look at the person behind the product rather than a technical review or dicsection of the product itself. It was interesting to actually see a personality (even though the info was vague) about him. Personally before the interview all I knew about him was that he was the programmer behind bittorrent. Now I know a bit about his life, that his wife is named Jenna and he has a cute baby. It's not all about bits and bytes guys....
On the contrary, wouldn't you consider this giving back? What could be nicer of them then offering the dial up masses (I don't see much benifit for broadband users) a faster intenet connection thru proxies? As long as they don't do evil and don't use our surfing trends against us, then what is the harm?
Just because a company benifits from OSS, doesn't automatically mean they have to come up the their own distro...
Dude, couldn't you just have said it's way cool!
You're not a true nerd if you've never worked on an IT project. And no, alphabetizing the pr0n in your mom's basement doesn't count.

Or perhaps they are just being smart business men and diversifying their offering of product offering.

Is it only me that notices that the Pro-MS posts get modded down while the pro-linux posts get modded up, no matter how stupid they are?
