Hey, I use myspace, AIM constantly. I'm not a tweener that doesn't know squat about computers, just if you use those sites, programs effectively, they can be a great asset as a way to reach a mass medium of people. My band, for example, uses Myspace excessively and have even booked shows with it. AIM, let's just say if I didn't use it, my phone bill would be sky high.
I'm surprised; I expected "US unilaterally invades comet".
"After intense negotiations, the comet has been deemed a threat to national security. The freedom-hating comet bowed down to the vastly superior US forces. The White House says that this is a direct response to 9/11."
DLO (Digital Lifestyle Outfitters) are using their patent #6,591,085 to keep a PodBuddy, designed by DVForge, a product, competing with DLO's TransPod, off the market.
Wow.... I don't even think Yoda could pull that off. Great job, Slashdot!
Don't know about anyone else, but I can tell you I don't adblock google ads, or any other non-intrusive ads. The ads I block are the ones with the sounds and the moving monkeys telling me to hit them to get a free ipod. I mean jesus christ, you wonder why people want to block your ads?
I'm not ashamed, I'm one of those people... It's not my fault that I'm bored and out of the house. Or that I'm lost in a bad neighbourhood and need directions. My phone's internet capability changes those situations dramatically, and so far, every phone I've had is pretty damn good at being a phone.
I think the point is that these "better" processors were built with that larger processor speed in mind, and if you underclock it, you still get the added benefit of somethign that's supposed to cool and use a bigger processor for a smaller one. It's like... AMD when they build the 4000+ over the 3200+, attempt to make the 4000+ as calm and quiet as possible, within limits, and go farther with the 4000+ than with the 3200+. Now if you underclock the 4000+, you still take advantage of that extra technology...
Oh, so you mean the Israeli government is like EVERY OTHER GOVERNMENT ON EARTH. Yea. News to me.;)
Argh, Israel, just when I hope you do something right, you turn around!
I didn't know we had other dopers here. I actually think the fact that SDMB went to being paid hasn't made it worse. The flamers and trolls seemed to leave, and I dunno, $7 a year for a forum that provides me with more help and information than all my teachers combined isn't that bad of a deal.
The discussions at SDMB are much better than at any other forums I know of.:-)

And the ex Counter-Terrorism boss of the administration speaking against the war, or at least against how it was carried out, was Richard Clark. This Richard Clark. Sorry buddy.
Article wasn't speaking platform in the metaphorical sense, but actually a platform in the literal sense, as in, to launch missions from there to mars, and refuel, etc.
That's just sad... that video card now has more clockspeed and more memory than my own main computer.

Another atlanta resident inclined to agree!

It should be available this summer for about 10,000 euros (about $12K)
Anyone got the torrent?

Lenticulars are what they're called. :-x
I pay only 3.99 a month for unlimited data use on my phone. T-mobile. :)
That kind of torah wouldn't be kosher, most likely.

I'm probably wrong.
Easy Solution: Make people buy something to use wifi, and propose a 2-hour limit, or however much you deem necessary.
Duh, that's why they have the dampener things on the stargate.

This article is about visits to mozilla's website, not people using mozilla browser.
"will have the capability to record voices and take pictures in a 180-degree circle."
Screw the armed robots, I just wanna see how they pulled this off!
Difference is: He's selling it to mass amounts of people, not "stealing" it for personal use.
Forces of Evil? The ska band?

You need to read slashdot more.

You need to read the whole sentence, including the last 5 little words, which read: "as a platform for Mars".
Article wasn't speaking platform in the metaphorical sense, but actually a platform in the literal sense, as in, to launch missions from there to mars, and refuel, etc.
It wouldn't be nearly accurate enough, nor would it be built for long term use, due to it's relatively simple job.
