I tried to get a normal, stupid, dumb terminal, capable of connecting through RS-232 to the management ports of my servers and switches. Why? because a terminal doesn't need a full baken OS with point-n-click and bells-n-whistles; it just needs to connect in emergencies and it needs to work all time.
The greatest surprise of 'm all, Wyse or VT100/120 terminals are not getting sold on Ebay anymore. It's all historical material; most of these terminals are refurbished to be show-stoppers instead of being used to their real purpose : to be used as dumb terminal. I found exactly one terminal in Australia.
The closest I could find as dumb terminal was a Neoware and a HP 5510 thin client. One runs on linux with teemtalk while the other runs *gross* CE.NET (with its own Teemtalk CE version), which the HP doesn't even want to connect to a windows terminal server for unknown reasons; while it's specifically written for it.
So... where's the real dumb terminals where you just connect and press enter to see the serial prompt ?... or am I just getting old and everything gets emulated/simulated all over?...
Everyone has its own little perks, if I write too fast I have the same problems; I tend to forget letters and the entire handwritten thing is to put on the open fireplace. If I relax, take deep breaths and tend to do my own speed of writing, everything will be more right than whenever I put any speed on it.
I even get a "doctors signature" whenever I write too fast rendering the entire text only readable by me and some other freaky goons who shouldn't be able to read that in the first place;)
Relax ? Take your time, your own rhythm, put letters thru your house, put them with tape or magnets against the wall, remember them, eventually write words on them like A from Alphabet, B from Beer, C from Cracker etc.. ? I use that system to remember getting my keys and even sometimes I write down a phonenumber or any other word I need to remember; seeing it daily sure refreshens the mind every time I -need- to remember what I've put ready for myself the previous days/weeks...

To be more serious to the point. I have been considering to buy virtual gold but did not because I could risk into an account ban. The reason? very simple. I feel f*cked by Blizzard. I have had 3 bugs until now loosing over 900 gold in the beginning of my playtime. I have been unable to get on their servers for over 2 weeks and a half. This on different computers and connections; I was unable to contact them since a change of e-mail address requires you to have your old one handy, not easy when your domain is squatted.
I have been annoyed because of the bad intervention of GameMasters, because they can NEVER do something. Had plenty of friends leaving the world of warcraft because of this; still, I think it's also more of a social thing in the game. I do got "online" friends less in the form of MSN but more in the form of playtime whenever I need to vent for a few hours after some good programming time...
Does it cut it, the gametime towards the gold that gets earned? I think not so, sure not if the customers get screwed royally with bugs they do not find themself accountable for. I got screenshots, my forum message got scrapped in all confidence;) still I am honest in this and I hope Blizzard will ever get more honest too about such hypocrisy.

Lots of people still think their monitor is powered by their PC; as they used to be years ago.
There are still PSU's with an extra connector to attach the monitor; for most people the power button on the PC is also the powerbutton for their monitors (while technically not always the most feasable solution to "just cut power" like that; but that's another discussion).
How can she know the interns of a computer; how it is connected; electrically, for as far as most computer-illiterate people think the power switch on the monitor turns on the PC and not the monitor as single unit. As I've read before she was forbidden to turn off the computer so it sure makes sense this solution was not the best one in a flash of panic.
