Everyone was screwed by iBooks introduction on the iPad. 'Agency Model' pricing was introduced and Amazon's $9.99 ebook pricing went out the window. Now most ebooks are $14.99 unless they are super old or not part of the agency 5.
ePub books with Adobe's DRM is pretty device independent. Currently I can buy a book from Sony bookstore, B&N bookstore, Borders bookstore, or fictionwise.com and load them onto my Nook. I could also load them onto a Kobo reader, a Sony reader, a pandigital novel reader, etc.
Amazon.com books can be read on the kindle.
iBooks can be read on the iphone/ipad.
It's clear who gets it--Adobe, B&N, Borders, and some other small time people (pandigital, kobo, etc)

Wouldn't stealing your phone also give them loads of other personal information? And the first thing you think of is they will have your facebook account?
No worries. It is very likely that she is grandfathered in; I remember when the merger happened and I thought I was going to get a "circle" but it didn't happen.
I don't disagree that Verizon is evil, I just don't think they have anything to do with this and your initial post was incorrect in some basic facts so I assumed fanboy.:-) That doesn't appear to be the case and I do apologize.
It's interesting that you said it was because of Verizon, because on my Droid Google Voice is allowed. I can't vouch for the "my 5" fave list removal, because I don't have a fave list. You mention that it is available on all plans and that is not true. At least for family plans, you must be on a plan that has at least 1400 minutes. My wife and I have a plan with 700 minutes and it has no option for any numbers. And it is 10, not 5.
Your post seems to be FUD, but I'll let others decide for themselves.
FYI they aren't using the microwave to reheat the burger, it is to melt the cheese. No cheese, no microwave. *This is based on my experience working at BK in high school
Did anyone else notice that all the Nintendo games mentioned are first party games? I always thought that was exaggerated, but I guess it has some backing evidence.
So at what point in the post above is proof offered that the ISP serving take down notices will ultimately lead said ISP snooping any and all data for any third party that asks for it?
I also fail to see how my suggestion that it is slippery slope/fallacy is off-topic. It is entirely on-topic; I am suggesting that the reply to my initial comment is not valid. Maybe I was incorrect with my assertion, but that doesn't make it off-topic!::face palm:: *this wasn't directed at fredklein, but I didn't want to make another post.
Exactly. There may be concerns of privacy (ISP snooping your data, etc) but considering what we've seen the RIAA due (sue people for ridiculous sums of money) this seems sensible.

Common sense is what we preach, but I have a feeling this won't be good enough for most here on/.
With a low battery I have plugged my PS3 controller to my laptop since it was closer than the PS3 and it continued to operate and also gain a charge. It may take longer to charge it plugged into a PC, but it does indeed work.
I don't own an Xbox360, but even I know that a gold membership does not cost $59.00 US. In fact if you deal shop, you can usually get a 12 (I think it's 12 + 1 actually) month card for between $35-40 USD.
The Wii most certainly can play games online without buying a membership. You even said so yourself.
Just because the anonymous users are anonymous does not negate the fact that you are playing games against human players. If they are indistinguishable from CPU opponents then 1) the game has great AI or 2) the human players are horrible.:-)
1) The parent was simply asserting that you could charge it on a PC. Just because you don't want to charge it while using your laptop doesn't mean it's completely unacceptable for most people.
2) It would be silly to leave your PC on just to charge your PS3. However I'd say most people on slashdot leave their computers on nigh 24/7.
3) Not true. I have charged my PS3 controller on both my desktop and (gasp) my laptop. I've also charged it using my DVR which has a USB port.
One thing that I feel should be said about the translation is that a lot of people (although I am not stupid enough to say even 20% of the 100k people, but let's leave it at "a lot") purchased the Japanese version and imported it. They played it well before the translation patch with a guide in a text document.
That's how much people love this game; that's how little Nintendo cares.

It didn't? I thought it sounded just like her. And if I'm not mistaken it is her.

Is to make sure they are fastened down properly!
Geez, get a new editor!

Or in Africa?

At first I thought it meant to "assassinate" as in... Lee Harvey Oswald. Did I get it right? Or do I need to visit google?

No it isn't.
There are dumb people everywhere... not just WV. But I suppose the joke was too easy to make so we can't blame you.
Aren't you going to have to got to the website and enter your login information to pay the bill anyhow?
(I am assuming that anyone who wants paperless billing is also going to pay bills paperlessly--that is to say, online)
Did anyone else notice that all the Nintendo games mentioned are first party games? I always thought that was exaggerated, but I guess it has some backing evidence.

That's a slippery slope. And it's a fallacy.
Exactly. There may be concerns of privacy (ISP snooping your data, etc) but considering what we've seen the RIAA due (sue people for ridiculous sums of money) this seems sensible.
