Hasn't corrupted my "little music player". Get off the FUD people your making yourselves out to be worse then M$ and SCO when it comes to the spread of fear, uncertainty and doubt.
Same here 10 mins tops for reactivation... 3 hours maybe if you feel you have to yell at the wrong people for 2 hours and 50 minutes for no reason before actually talking to the right people.
If you read the OEM EULA it states that the motherboard is concidered to be the heart and soul of your computer and once changed will result in the voiding of your OEM license. BUT if the mother board is replaced with the same board OR an equivelant by the company from which you purchased it then your license is still good being the OEM manufacturer is still supporting your system.
If you did as you said and sent the machine back to eMachines then all you would have to do is call Microsoft and have your machine reactivated which involves a whole 10 mins of your time to do generally. Which I am sure is alot less time then it took for eMacine support to even talk to you.
I have done this before and it is not a real hard task and guess what simply explain what happened and Microsoft will gladly get you activated with no argument needed.
If you can't beat them one waty you beat them another way.
Everyone knows "Genius" that Sony has been looking for a way to shut down Lik Sang due to the mod's and so on that they sell NOT the fact they sold official Playstation gear. If you belive the only reason Sony went after Lik Sang was because they sold a few PSP's then you honestly have no clue what the war was between these two buisnesses was about. Read back on history not just the FUD you read on/.
Sorry to sound like a troll but understand and read into the whole picture not just a single post.
This was the one way they were able to successfully shut them down.
You make it sound as if all they did was sell "official" Playstation products.
Sony's problem with this outfit stems way back and was mainly centered around products sold which enabled pirated versions of their games to be played on their systems.
Now seriously say you are a software developer which I am sure some of you are and you have a retail outlet selling one of your products. Along with that product sits another product which cercumvents the licensing of the product your selling as well as the licensing of most everyone elses software. Sure they are selling your software but honestly when atleast the majority of the customers to that retail store are going there to purchase the item used to run your software for free what diffrence does it make that they sell your software as well.
Lets face it people Lik-Sang made their name selling items used mainly to pirate games for consoles and are now hiding behind the fact that they then sold a few PSP's. I guarentee you Sony did not fight Lik-Sang just because they sold PSP's and to flame a company for protecting their's as well as other's intelectual property well...
Well the register needs to check their sources or at least try something out before posting such nonsense.
First off I have been running Google Toolbar with no issues in IE7 on Windows Vista Beta 1 now for a day no problems.
Secondly if they were so slanted against other search engines why would there be an option to use diffrent engines in the drop down list next to the search field in IE7's tool bar.
And thirdly the beta is not only for Windows Vista Beta 1 users. There is also an IE7 beta version for use on XP as well.
Check your information before posting lies Register...
LOL bittorrent banned! I dont think that could ever happen. May improved and evolvolved into something better but never banned. Unlike napster and such apps development has been decentralized by making it open source.
OK jump on it folks either say hurry for open source sticking it to the man or this is why open source is bad:P
This is true but lets face it people want to play as their favorite sports figure not someone named Player #00 who plays for the Dallas Cowpolks.
Is it me or does anyone see how EA has taken the MS buisness model now that some competition has challenged their inovation lacking mainstay sports title?
Heck if you cant develop and improve a game or heck even drop the price a bit why not snuff out the competition.
To bad you dont read through the articles and only look for things to trash.
The problem isnt in postnuke...
If you didnt read the article the main post mensioned you should have atleast read the main post which states the problem is in paFileDB which isnt even part of any *nuke site be it PHPNuke or Postnuke...
I hate it when people feel the need to start trashing things before looking into the what they are trashing and why.
Kinda like blaming Microsoft because some poorly coded application causes memory leaks and crashes Windows...
Reading the article you may wish to note the fact that the Postnuke software package does not contain the exploit. It was the download management software they use to distribute the package called Postnuke that was exploited.
Simply put what was exploited was not not code contained within postnuke but instead a package called pafiledb.
It would seem everyone is saying its the Postnukes teams fault. If your going to jump someones case you should actually go after the developers of PHPArena.
All I can say is thank God myself as a small webhost is being backed by such an Internet access giant as AOL is.
I suddenly dont feel so bad for installing AIM to talk to strange women:)
I feel that what microsoft is looking to punish the witness for what the criminal has done with, although I may be wrong, the intention of profiting off the witness while making the victim feel they, being MS, are trying to helping them out.
I am sorry but not trying to post anything that maybe regarded as flame bait but I could care the F*** less if i got less spam due to the hurricane. I am sorry I would rather deal with 50 more of those tid bits of joy a day being filtered out and deleted by my filters rather than see the destruction that has been caused the past couple months.
To rejoice or even bring this up as something great due to the fact you got one less viagra email calling your wang small is sick and repulsive...
Well the source RPM's have been available for like the past two weeks via FTP to the public. SO as far as fulfilling the obligatioin to offer the source they have been even before the actual binary distribution was even released.
Well you going to have to wait a bit longer... From the readme.txt on the suse ftp site:
Wed May 5 12:50:00 MEST 2004 - draht@
This tree contains the source RPM packages for the SUSE LINUX 9.1 distribution. The SUSE LINUX 9.1 ftp version will be published on June 4th in this directory.
Thanks, Roman Drahtmüller, Sebastian Nagel, ftpadmin@suse.com
I could never understand why people who do illegal things such as software, music, and movie piracy once caught bitch and complain about their rights being violated not even taking into account the rights of the people whos work they infringed on.
You got busted sorry to hear that. Now delete the file get on with your life and be thankful that they are not sueing your ass off for infringing on their copyright in stead of acting like you did nothing wrong and it is MCA's fault for tring to protect their rights which were definatly violated.
No because some how a finger will be pointed towards the OSS community just because it effects Microsoft products. Just remember RIAA might have compiled the virus using gcc.
Personally I say the whole "virus was written by the Open Source Community" is hog wash. I have yet to find the source for any of the recent virus's on SourceForge.
ICANN will control tld and Spamhaus will control mail...
Sorry this does not sound like a good thing to me. Instead of the one big Satan we have in ICANN (at least according to alot of people I have still yet to pass judgement on ICANN) we will have two once Spamhaus gains control of the would be.mail tld. On one hand we will have ICANN doing their thing which alot of people dont like while Spamhaus forces you to pay $2000 a year to send email...
I'm sorry I hate spam as much as the next person but to give control of who can and cant send email to one company just doesnt justify the cost in the end to freedoms on the Internet.
Lets face it all it will take is one even medium sized ISP to adopt Spamhauses.mail domain as a filter. God forbid a major ISP adopts this. Once that happens we will now are forced to pay an inflated price for another domain name...
I don't know I say screw this if ICANN excepts this one over a what I feel will be more helpful as far as cleaning up the Internet goes such as the.xxx tld...
Heck I don't know what I would do at least in the operating system world I have Linux as an alternative to windows...
I don't know but to me this FCC thing is getting WAY out of hand. I can see going after nudity and other "gross" acts but come on WTF is wrong with Pink Floyd's song Money? It has been played on the radio accross the nation for how long? Now the FCC is banning radio stations from playing it because they consider the song obscene because it contains the "S" word... The FCC is threatening to fine any radio station playing this song $270,000.00.
I am not sure that this is all around the world but a classic rock station here in Cleveland, Ohio has been threatened WNCX
IMHO there is a line which separates needed censorship (such as keeping porn off network tv where kids would have access to it) and the government trying to press it's belifes (religious or not) upon it's people by censoring out something as trivial as a song that has been played for years.
SUSE even required user accounts be managed through YAST, what kind of nonense is that?
Hmmm adding users in both YaST and from the command line using useradd works for me...
Heck YaST even shows them and don't overwrite or change them not matter which way I add users...
Not sure but maybe my SuSE Version 9 distro is diffrent from everyone elses.
Hasn't corrupted my "little music player".

Not only do we have to worry about idiots on cell phones and putting on makeup during rush hour but now commuters on thier laptops as well.
I can wait for the law banning laptop use as well as any and all cyborg implantations to be banned from the roads under penalty of death.

Hey I'm one of those. A poor 30 year old kid, unemployed computer geek, living in poverty near but not quite in Cleveland...
I agree shoot me some money Bill!!!
I swear to charish and love Microsoft and it's produccts forever and ever honestly.
Down with Linux!
Microsoft forever!

it looks like $250 a user for a year of desktop support - which doesn't sound all that bad to me for a large environment.
$250.00 a year?
Heck I can stick to the Windows environment for less than that if you strech it out over the normal 2 to 3 years between releases of new MS products.
I could never understand why people who do illegal things such as software, music, and movie piracy once caught bitch and complain about their rights being violated not even taking into account the rights of the people whos work they infringed on.

Oh well I am already desensitized to this type of thing already and its not because of videos like this.
It's because I play violent online games.
Bill Clinton told me so!!!

A world filled with mainframes and very few PC's.
