I never got round to getting half-life 2 but I would definitely buy into a Linux-based Steam setup (not use steam since CS days). Maybe Valve could have little 'demo' free downloads of each title, just enough to prove the graphics and audio code for that title on one's individual Linux setup?
Damn, I thought i had the perfect way of breaking water molecules up: lending them to teenagers while saying 'be careful with these molecules' . Sadly, when it came to harvesting the hydrogen atoms, they had become lost or 'there was no atoms in the molecules' or 'what water molecules?'.
As i get older and more forgetful, my policy of carrying my keys ( 15 keys plus usb stick ) in one big bunch is paying off. If I leave my keys anywhere, I can't get far without discovering the loss, also as i habitually keep them in the same trouser pocket I cannot walk far without them without noticing.
Lol. The 'top end' NCR ATM is little more than a pc with a cash handler glued on. Also the cash handler is somewhat flaky and fragile and seems like a prototype rather than something that had been developed for and made on a production line. Mind you, Wincor Nixdorf aren't much better, although they look like they have been designed with CAD.
Odd. The _only_ wifi adapter i have that linux finds and uses is a broadcom one. 431X or something. I have had no luck with various netgear and belkin and no-name spurious cards and dongles.
I can't wait! Instead of torrenting stuff for weeks, like some sort of caveman, I will have instantaneous access to petabytes of HD content from The Pirate Cloud, even on my phone. It will make train journeys more interesting.
If I am on the move and need my data at my fingertips, I want it with me. I don't want to be pulling gigs of data through cloudy tendrils to my airline seat.
Adobe should only focus more on creating great HTML5 tools once they have either:
a) got Flash working properly and not consuming vast resources.
b) frozen Flash until we all have 8-core 512Gbyte phones and wristwatches to run it on.
Tell that to my HP2600n. I upgraded from my laserjet4+ and assumed that it would just work, but printed photos look crapular compared to printed photos from windows.:-( Yes, I have dicked around with IMCP or whatever it is, but for me win2k in virtualbox is the best easy way to print photos (text is fine). Maybe it is a rare aberration from HP? I like the printer, it is just the linux support that is missing.
I can sympathise with these poor addicts, though. At their age I was addicted to looking out of the window, daydreaming, eating crisps, talking about things, watching tv, listening to the radio etc. Now, as an adult, I am addicted to paying tax, putting petrol in my car, shouting at the tv, paying utility bills, buying groceries and protecting my lawn from kids.
Yeah, silly me. I was expecting the multi-billion-dollar global corporation that the 'significant component' was written for would employ reasonably competent coders for _both_ projects, what with it dealing with cash financial transactions in remote, unsupervised locations and all. Apologies.
Although the software app was different, the screen, keypad, card reader, receipt printer and money handling hardware were all the same, as was the data transfer and validation backend. Thus my assertion that the OS/2 units booted faster and were more responsive in operation doing the same job.
Heh. OS/2 on 300MHz and 32Mb ram makes for a more responsive Automatic Teller Machine than the later 2GHz 512Mb burdened with XP. The rest of the whole ATM was identical so you know it was doing the same job. Also, it took 15 minutes to install, against the XP's 2-3 hours.
Since there is no easy way to remotely measure the ash density or composition, allied to the obvious fact that the ash cloud is constantly in motion, I think the gov should instead ADVISE the airlines not to fly. "Oooh, I wouldn't fly in that if I were you. I mean, if you really want to fly that is up to you, but you might get a lot of bereaved families suing your ass." Let the griping bastards make test flights or risk lawsuits, don't they get paid millions for making tough decisions?
Looks to me like Pakistan has used secret agents to push this bill through. If people are allowed to make backups of dvds they own, India's whole society will collapse. I give it a week.
Well, those companies that are hurting financially should go to the CEOs and consultants to whom they paid $millions for bringing in this marvelous 'just-in-time' system, and ask for a refund. While they are at it, they could apologise to all the hourly-paid peon scum who argued against the 'just-in-time' system because of this very fragility.

I want one so i can overclock it by adding neutrons.

Ones who learned maths and physics and sciencey stuff rather than dance and drama and drawing and whatever else mac zealots 'qualified' in?

Oooh, a Nazi Vampire Car analogy, would be even better. And a Beowulf cluster of them would be even more so.
Really? I will get my harpoon and song sheet.
'maroon', surely?

Where do the tubes come in? Are they buried under the superhighway?

What is 'secluded from my life' supposed to mean?

What? Troll? I speak from first-hand experience.
The install floppies I used were grey. Let's see if this is modded Troll, too.

P.s. if some idiot power cycled it while booting, OS/2 survived, XP died and had to be re-installed.

If I make something and say it is a work of art and want money for it, and another person agrees that it is art and pays money for it, then it is art.
