The game would need to cost $200 just to cover the development costs. Can you imagine how much the salary of 20-30 people, over 10 years costs? Plus the cost of licensing technology, and office space!
At this point, they're just going to have to try to lessen their losses, and spit out a few quick games after, built on the technology. I am shocked that this company still exists. They must have made a lot of money on duke3d and max payne to pay for this exercise in hopelessness.
I always thought that they should put two batteries in a cell phone, one for the multimedia, one for the actual phone calls. It's probably overkill though
But this problem has existed in nearly every decent portable music device going back to the Walkman. If anything, Apple should be given credit for being proactive.
Alas, should, and will are probably different here.
That sounds nice. Why don't we have the government supply all of our services? Let's get rid of Wal-mart and have Gov-Mart? On top of that, all other stores will be illegal.
Here in Canada we have one provider for health insurance, the provincial government. This results in our tax dollars being funneled into paying to run the system that is increasing in cost faster than we can afford it. The main problem lies in the fact that there's no competition in health insurance, therefore, no impetus to keep the efficiency high, and therefore, the affordability low.
People NEED health care. People NEED food. People NEED a place to live. Why should the government be the sole supplier of any or all of those things? There are many examples of countries that have tried this method, they're called communist countries. I use the term communist not because it's a 'naughty' word, but because that is what communism is by definition.
But how many of those PS3 owners will have an HDTV? They won't give a crap about blu-ray.
I bet most people that want HD gaming already have a 360, or will get one soon. For them, they'll wait and see which format wins out, or just buy the 360 HD-DVD addon.
I rip my purchased CDs to DRM-less m4a format (using the open-source faac codec) and then manage and upload my music to the ipod using amarok 1.4.
I have all my music, properly sorted, and with their respective album covers. I prefer amarok to itunes, so I don't feel like I'm missing out.
amarok will soon have the ability to transcode when uploading to the ipod, that way, I can store my music in ogg vorbis format, then, when I upload my music to my ipod, it will be transcoded to m4a (which sounds fine to my ears).
Ya, lowering prices is good, but why no next-gen love? Not everyone that has a next-gen system is rich (since they blew all their money on the hardware).
Fight Night Round 3 is $20 cheaper on the current-gen systems than the 360, which is just unfair, All that's different is graphics, I think I'll pass.
I'm pretty sure that the CD you burned from iTMS is of a 'lower' quality than the CD from the store, but I doubt it's a lower quality than the downloaded song, since it's decoded before being burned the same way as its' decoded before being played in a speaker/headphones by itunes or your iPod.
Only on slashdot would people equate Transformers with Star Wars and King Kong (in a post lower down).
Strangely, I was a kid of the 80s, and loved my transformers toys, but never watched the show or movie. I wasn't being funny! I really do plan on seeing it (eventually).
You're assuming that those who choose to commit suicide, for any reason, isn't worthy of living (or the world is better off without them). While I can see how someone can see it that way, I would have to disagree.
It is very possible that these people can be very creative or smart and are in a temporary rut. Or it is also possible that they have somekind of illness like bipolar or manic depression, which is treatable.
Plus, I bet that almost all of them have friends or family that would be very upset with this.

Thanks for ruining the movie! I was planning on seeing it soon!
You mean China's gift to the world? The US isn't the only country on earth. China's pollution output has been accelerating extremely fast as of recently.
Also, the US pollution output has been lowering faster than ours (Canadian) over the past 10 years.
Just because they don't sign some silly international agreement (ahem, Kyoto), it doesn't mean that they are 'against' the environment.
There's nothing wrong with borrowing an idea, as long as you twist/improve on it.
Bejewled is VERY different from Nintendo's Puzzle League/Tetris Attack, yes there are similarities, but it is a different game, no doubt.
On the other hand, the DS launch game 'Zookeeper' looks like a true rip-off of Bejeweled.
The thing is, if you're first with a design, and market yourself properly, you'll have the brand recognition, then when people have a choice between the two games, they'll choose yours.
Also, when the fakers are busy recreating your design, you can be making the sequel, staying one step ahead.
It's similar with patents for inventions, you can't clone an invention and sell it for cheaper (that would be wrong), but you can take the exisitng patent, and add to it, improve it, which is 'good' and legal AFAIK.

How can you even consider Wal-mart a video game retail monopoly?
Here in little Ottawa, Canada, you can buy games at Zellers, Sears, EBGames, Microplay, Futureshop, Best Buy, Compusmart, Toys R Us, amazon.ca, etc.
Stop with the wal-mart whining already!
Don't forget ajaxWrite!

Thanks! I almost had a heart attack!
I wrote a year's worth of post dated cheques for my rent to my landlord.
I'm glad to be a Canadian!
Wouldn't it be good for the US to have that nugget of info to be released?

If your ipod is broken, how can you restore the apple firmware? What happens if the USB interface chip gets fried?
Meh, I bet they'd replace it anyways, they can tell if it's a hardware problem.

I guess an easy answer is go look to religion for an answer.
Also, I'm sure they've spent more than the last century working on this 'problem'.
A lot of people find that religion gives them purpose (hopefully, the good kind, not the suicide bomber kind).

Hey, Iran, is that you?
I believe this is what Nintendo is hoping for in its' next system.
Sure, but just wait until they ban it at the next town over, ad infinitum.
If your government couldn't read those treaties, how could they comply with them?
I call shenanigans!
No, that's what Scott (Bakula) would say.
