good point. Imagine if this was a corporation, and the execs went to the shareholders and said 'We spent $600 million on software, but it's not going to work. sorry." They'd be out of a job in a flash. But since it's the government, it's just another hilarious political mishap. "oops !!"
I don't understand why he asked for a proxy from this dude he had just met. Really, really stupid, especially when it turned out to be a government monitoring server.
However, officials at AOL and WeatherBug did not take too kindly to the classification. "The vast majority of anti-spyware providers do not consider WeatherBug to be spyware, including Aluria, our own anti-spyware provider," said AOL spokesman Andrew Weinstein.
Is this guy serious ? Because the company's own software doesn't consider its other software bad, this is supposed to make us feel better ?
There is a very amusing episode of Dilbert (the short-lived cartoon) called 'Y2K'. basically, the Y2k disaster happens and everyone is reduced to living in huts. But they're happy, and that's what's important.
If movies were simultaneously released on DVD and in theaters, would anyone even go anymore ? I sure wouldn't. Between the cell phones, commercials, children climbing the back of my chair, and the dude smoking in front of me, I think it's a safe bet I'd rather stay home.
I think part of the problem is also that your submitted stories generally suck and stick out as "one of those slashdot Story-Ads". Why the secrecy anyway ? Does/. make money off your submissions or not ? We're not opposed to it, we're just opposed to all the weird shadiness...
Seriously, what the hell ? I just don't understand it. Most of the accepted stories are for services or products, too - which just makes it worse. If you're going to get revenue somehow via Roland, fine... but why do you have to be so secretive about it ?
This isn't local law enforcement. It's the FBI. They *SHOULD* be worrying about the heavy-duty terrorist stuff. That's their JOB. Not being copyright lackeys.
I'm sorry, but this is just ridiculous. There's so much crazy, crazy shit going on in the world. To think that a massive, worldwide sting operation was conducted to go after WarEZ D00Dz - undoubtedly costing millions of taxpayer dollars and occupying law enforcement agents for weeks or longer - is just insane. MOVIES, SONGS, SOFTWARE. These aren't life-threatening. I'm not saying such things should be ignored, but the scale, preparation and implementation seems to have been amazing for this project. Was it REALLY worth all that effort ?
To answer your question, is the tv worth repairing ? I bought my girlfriend a decent 31" for about $129. It might be an obvious issue if you crack it open, but if it's more complicated the repair bill/parts might not be worth it.

Desperation ?
They must feel the pressure of Firefox...

as has been stated on previous threads, google is one of the best torrent search tools available. Use filetype:torrent.
The question is, can the RAM move to the funky beat of the music like my speakers' LEDs ?
I'm kind of glad that I haven't purchased a TiVo box yet. Does anyone know the future of the service with current boxes and/or providers?
People have been saying this for 5 years. Please, just friggin buy the thing already.
Wasn't there a book review yesterday saying to not worry about outsourcing ? WHO DO I BELIEVE ?!

The monitor is hot. The asian woman holding it is hot. A win-win article.
It's not really a troll so much as it is a joke, but I guess there's no -1, Joke.

Real Stories != Advertising Revenue
Paid Links/Roland Piquepalle posts = $
Not sure... I don't make a move until I hear from Roland Piquepalle.
People, please stop slashdotting Nasa. It makes them look even worse. Deadly asteroids, THEN server explosions ?

Why, yes I did.
