The other thing on the security side is governance: Sarbanes-Oxley and regulatory compliance. I think a lot more time right now is being spent on compliance and the regulation. It probably is competing with the amount of time spent on traditional security.
He's not kidding about this shit. Sarbanes-Oxley compliance at my last position essentially stopped productivity for months. The documentation requirements are insane - I'm talking pages of request forms to run a select statement against a non-production database. Everything IT touched needed "Compliance documentation", no matter how insignificant or silly it seemed. Need to install Ad-aware on a CLIENT station ? 14 pages of forms and a meeting at the (NON-technical) review board. You can imagine how much work was getting done following those processes.
Johnny Depp looks crazier and crazier in every movie. I thought he must have peaked in 'Secret Window', but this definitely takes the craziness up a notch.
Sure, I love it when the guy at the bar scans my license even though I'm 26. That way, when anyone needs some ammunition they can easily show I'm a raging alcoholic.
The company I was at about a year ago pulled something just as nasty. I heard this all firsthand from a few terminees. Apparently, their managers came up to them one morning and basically said "Hey, I need your help with something". They were led to the lobby and told: give me your badge. 'You don't work here anymore and aren't allowed on the premises. Your things will be sent to you.' they did this to about 100 people. According to the receptionist, there were about 30 women in the lobby crying their eyes out from the totally unexpected shock of being fired without any warning.
well, technically HD-DVD *is* blue ray. The competing format is called "Blu-Ray", which is sort of confusing (not to us, to other people) because they both use a blue ray (laser).

Maybe it should have been "more sense than bandwidth"... bye bye, site...
What are you talking about - look at those screen shots, the beautiful palm trees, tropical weather... wait, what ? it's only make-believe ?
SUCKER!
with a Paris Hilton video worm
I need more information about this immediately... for a friend
I don't know what you're complaining about, that .mov is at least 12x4 resolution.
Interesting, I will have to email them and tell them they've wasted months of company time. I will enjoy it, I assume they will not.

I have always found "grope" to be a much more effective and fun exploit. Whether you're in the office, or on-the-go, grope gets results !

You may want to investigate this brand-new technology called "Wireless".
Sure, they'll have some of your info digitally imprinted on it, but who cares? It wont be abused.
Please turn in your account immediately, you are no longer welcome in this area.

Blu-Ray will win, simply because of the significant difference in storage capacity.
Thank you.
... But then what would I have to post about ?
RTFA
What ? Why ?
good to see the DOJ keeping busy with these hardcore criminals.
Only the ones slashdotters use. But We're techno-cranks bent on world domination through free software anyway.
Right... but the $500 price tag - was some of this money going back to the game manufacturers or not ?
When did this become illegal ? My hardware, My business ? Were they selling pirated games or not ?

Man, someone drives a yugo. Just because you can't get above 35 mph doesn't mean you have to rant to everyone who can.
If you're one of those people that still think that those 55 mph speed limits are for your protection, then I feel very sorry for you.
