Seconded. I'd never live in a country that tortures even its own people. It would be immoral to pay taxes to such a government. Still, I drink Coca-Cola and watch their movies...
So true. Context switching wastes clock cycles, but pre-emptive scheduling is still a must. I have tried to learn to manage my own time from operating systems studies. I still have a lot to learn. Especially IRC is bad. Just have to check new messages frequently. These things can help to improve workflow:
- Use laptop, without network connection, so you can find a quiet and comfortable place - If you listen to music, make sure it's pleasant - Think about room's lightning and improve it if necessary - There's on/off button on your cellphone - Noisy computer distracts your mind - Keep only tabs related to your work open in your browser - Human mind takes ~15 minutes to concentrate on a subject, so that's a good minimum running time of a process - Meditation and yoga can help on concentration
If you want to increase your skill, learn to type these right: "sentence", not "sentance" "separation", not "seperation" "ellipsis", not "elipsis" "capitalize", not "capatilize"
Yes, the movie from 1995 is the first. Stand Alone Complex sets in alternative universe where Motoko didn't meet Puppet Master. There is really no specific order that you should follow, expect that in the Stand Alone Complex there is a plot (marked with blue episode title color, green is for stand-alone episodes). GITS: Innocence is a sequel to the original movie, and is not related to Stand Alone Complex.
Odd, that the series hasn't had more attention on/., because it touches the subjects that slashdotters are sensitive to. GITS tries very logically to describe tomorrow's hi-tech world, where giant corporations are in power and government can easily spy on anyone (wait, it's not tomorrow's world:). I also like the political depth of GITS, because it places constraints on what is possible to do, and thereby makes the series more realistic.

Mouse wheel has worked for ages with a simple option in ~/.emacs
This works for me:
(global-set-key [mouse-4] 'scroll-down)
(global-set-key [mouse-5] 'scroll-up)
I'm an introvert by that definition too. After my university studies began i have attented many parties and i'm slowly beginning to be more extrovert, because i really want to make new friends. I just don't always know what to speak to them or, more importantly, how to express myself in an interesting way:-(
I haven't had so good experience. I tried a long time to get WoW working with CVS Cedega and just didn't succeed. Then, when I tried regular Wine it worked instantly and I now have an account:-)
I couldn't get WoW working for CVS Cedega (read many forums, tried everything), but when i installed Wine (20050930) and 2 dlls (mfc42 and msvcp60) it started instantly to work (OpenGL works right, DX works, but with glitches). I have to patch the game manually. I didn't even have to install Mozilla & ActiveX. I don't own an account and haven't tried running it for a long time, though. Targeting doesn't work, but there exists a fix. I'm using AthlonXP 2400+, 512 MiB, GF FX 5900XT and Ubuntu Breezy.
I switched from GNOME to Fluxbox few days ago, and it's a great lightweight WM, but i cannot save window positions and sizes even if i check options from the window bar. Tabs are absolutely cool, now i don't need gnome-terminal which was one of the reasons i switched from XFCE to GNOME. Got to set up auto-mounting of usb stick and life gets easier. GNOME has a good feature that when you stick usb stick in, Nautilus opens a window showing its contents, but Fluxbox doesn't have anything like that:-(
Suddenly, all my data are being vaporized awaaay. This, if something, is vaporware :-)
So, x86 processors are finally getting on par with other processors from, like, 15 years ago?

I think (s)he meant running IE5 and IE6 side by side without any emulator, which probably is impossible.
You meant sudoku. I was once supposed to create a generator for those puzzles, but didn't finish it, because it wasn't needed.
How can coffee cost $4? Sorry, i'm from Europe, so i really don't understand.
>But than the whole world...
In soviet America you maybe can substitute THEN with THAN, but in the rest of the world you can't.

Swedish? It's Finnish.
Am I the only one who read the name as Dr. Pepper?
Parody isn't illegal, to my knowledge, even in USA, where you guys probably have World's strictest copyright law.
Kill Bill?
