"The thing with the other 'distros' is it takes a system administrator to set something up. We're trying to simplify things so a regular user can pretty much do everything"
That sounds like default root to me...
Also, they're/.ed and the google cache won't load...
I'm sure I've seen an ad for linux virus scanners. Is this a rip off, or does it scan for windows viruses on the way through mailservers and firewalls?
Surely "nothing but its own internal workings" prohibits adding hardware, right? otherwise, why not add your own custom hardware, made of paper? Looks like this must be software-only.
We've had a lot of rubbish about nanotech here in the UK, including the belief that a flesh-eating grey goo will take over the world.
Honestly, our tabloid papers will report anything...
Um?
Whatever you think of java, it's pretty usefull for people on less-used operating systems to have cross-platform software. Don't have to wait for a port.
70000 years is enough, because according to the "Noah's Ark" story, the earth is only 6000 years old. Which in itself seems to invalidate radiocarbon dating. Oh well, thats creationism.
the aiming mirrors in the laser are extremely exotic heavy materials and expensive and function in a air tight clean-room environment.
How do they maintain that on an aircraft?
But he invented the idea that hardware and software were different!
By comming up with the idea of a machine that ran applications, he has to be said to have invented apps also
Surely a bridge from windows?
Wasn't Lindows going to provide near 100% compatiblity with windows?
Haven't there been endless attempts at windows-compatible linux distros?
Of course, you can always sell the security patches at extra cost... windows 98 windows 98se

Maybe you can use an old printer...
Would make an interesting virus...

Is this just a way to sell the devices?
the bbc already has a thing for the latest news, at reasonable quality. news.bbc.org.uk
Except this would create a better, maybe cheaper, OS, with compatibility for most windows apps. Not good from an anti-competetive viewpoint.
Maybe not so good for day-to-day use, but that would make a pretty cool rescue disk...
Would it have better autodetection of XF86Config values? I have always had great difficulty running X in Debian.
Hmm... a new windows worm, exploiting a documented flaw? Never!
Whats new?

Is this because enough people want open-source that they can no longer compete without it?
Isn't it great? Nuclear disaster means TOURIST PROFIT!
And to think those communists thought it was a disaster...
It certainly looks dodgy, but I think some are being a bit hard on the website, given that it says "under construction".
That said, the stuff that *is* up looks like a load of rubbish.
OS in a web browser? Maybe a confused reference to the fake integration of explorer.exe and iexplore.exe?

I network name machines by physical location. Boring, I know. I have LEFT, RIGHT (in the same room) and STUDY.
I for one welcome our New Labour overlords...

If thats not possible, why don't the aiming mirrors in the 747 overheat?
If a photon had mass, it would appear to have infinite mass when travelling at the speed of light.
Infinity. Not good.
