You're right, the quests and content in Fallout 3 can't compare to games from years ago. This is because the quests and actual content in Fallout 3 is dead and wooden compared to the first 2. Now, the shiny factor is obviously more, but really that's about it. I disagree, personally I blame the damn giant radscorpions, when I can kill a man wearing Enclave Power armor in 2 shots w/ a hunting rifle and it takes 5 to kill a giant radscorpion something is screwed up w/ the game.
I've never heard people complaining about paintball or racing as "determined by how much they spend on the game." There's an old saying in racing, "How fast do you want to go?" The reply is "How much do you want to spend."
Bring something non-school related? Teacher confiscates it. Now software CDs probably WOULDN'T fall under that, but depending on the teacher, it could, as it is at their discretion. Now my school had a similiar policy, though you usually got it back at the end of the day, unless it was something dangerous or illegal. Having said that, teachers aren't cops and LiveCD's aren't drugs so asset seizure should not be a practice the schools should get into.
Hate speech, inflammatory speech, screaming fire in a crowded theater, libel, slande [sesame street]One of these things is not like the others[/sesame street]
Never mind the fact that we only planned on playing the station that has a "no Nickelback guarantee" (yes, this actually exists in Canada, they're so reviled). Now there's a Canadian export I'd love to see in the US.
Now let's see some hosted apps with decent performance and good UIs and let's make sure that hitting backspace doesn't destroy all our work. Amen to that brother, I can't remember the site, but somehow trying to backspace an error in a form did the old back browse and I lost everything. Like alt-arrow was too hard to do why the hell did backspace need to be tasked to this function?
The reason is: nobody cares about Darfur.
It's nowhere powerful or/and resource-rich to be interesting for the West powers. Tell that to the Chinese who recently signed a deal to get lots of oil from Sudan(you know the country the Darfur region is part of).
The main reason Nokia is so unpopular in the US is that they refused to cripple their phones as much as the carriers wanted. Unfortunately even nerds in America are apparently too dependent on force fed advertising. Another reason may be Nokia's latest phones inability to work well w/ in car bluetooth systems. My Nokia E61 which I find a joy to use doesn't work at all w/ the bluetooth system in my BMW, the old ngage handset I have does. Thus for long trips I have to swap the sim into the ngage if I want to use the bluetooth in the car. Now, the car's bluetooth will work w/ the moto razr no problem, so this fault lies at the feet of Nokia.
As for Sagan himself on the issue, his research seems more speculative rather than concrete. Remember he also predicted that the first Iraq war would lead to global cooling because of the particulate matter generated from the oil fires Saddam threatened to set. Well indeed Saddam did set those fires as he threatened and it had no measurable impact on our climate. I believe part of the problem there lay in the speed at which the allies and the oil companies put those fires out. ie they didn't burn for as long as they were expected to.
Wow this is one of the most level headed and rational analyses of the issue I have seen. I've been burned by moderation before when discussing OSX vs other OSes not available seperately as a retail item. So to the Apple happy mods, replace OSX w/ printer cartridge and see if you think bring in the DCMA is still a good idea.
But what about the Americans? We think we are so superior and if you think about, our country hasn't had much to feel very superior about in about 10 years. No major accomplishments lately for the ol' US of A.... Hey we've been pissing the rest of the world off, that should count for something, and don't forget after Nov. 4th all americans have been absolved of their white liberal guilt, let's welcome the age of aquarius!
So are laws against yelling "FIRE! FIRE!" in a crowded theater, but in any civilized society we have to draw the line somewhere to prevent douchebags from causing pointless harm and upheaval. Unless there really is a fire then it is expected that you would do so. There were laws on the books for incitement, but your moral equivalence fails when comparing the harm caused by a panicking crowd and disagreements between two individuals over whether homosexuality is a choice or a genetic trait or what is the socially acceptable term for various ethnicities.
Here's where I see the value of a correctly ethical killing machine:
Enforcing a border between two groups of humans that would otherwise be killing each other, and making that border 100% impenetrable. See landmines and demilitarized zone
Windows is lisenced to anyone and everyone for an exorbinant fee, while the Xbox OS is not lisenced to anyone and used only for running hardware assembled and sold by Microsoft. I haven't been to a big box retailer recently so perhaps you can purchase the XBox OS on an installable media, but I sure as hell know you can purchase a copy of Mac OSX on physical media for installation. So therefore your MS Xbox analogy fails. Apple doesn't have any obligation to market it's computer OS the same way that MS does, and unless you have a problem with MS, Sony, or Nintendo marketing their OS the same way Apple does I fail to see validity of the "Apple is the next MS" argument you are using here unless you plan to apply it to the other game station manufacturers as well. Again please provide linx to where I can purchase on seperate physical media any of those operating systems. Oh wait, you can't. Here's a bad car analogy, imagine if Bridgestone decided that you could only put Potenzas on Ferraris and some clever chap allowed you to put Potenzas on a hyundai. Now recognize that is what apple is trying to do with leopard or whichever version of the OS they're selling.
Getting chatted up and being sexually harassed are not even remotely the same thing. It is if the person doing the chatting up is unattractive, I believe it was Chris Rock who said if Clarence Thomas looked like Denzel Washington there wouldn't have been that whole mess during the confirmation hearings.
When did "American" become a lifestyle rather than a place of birth? When people decided that culture was a sacrosanct, frozen set of behavior rather than an adaptation to environmental forces. Of course the overwhelming nostalgia hasn't helped that problem either.

Bart's junk? ... Bart is junk ...?
or maybe Bart was carrying handfuls of his junk in the film?
Err... confused.
Look here and all will be revealed.

Remember that the US armed forces swear an oath to uphold the Constitution -- not to follow the orders of POTUS.
You're half right, they also swear an oath to follow the orders of the officers above them(w/ the caveat that those orders are lawful).
It's the BSG fan equivalent of Nemesis. It didn't happen, okay? Did. Not. Happen.
You mean it's the BSG equivalent of Highlander 2:The Quickening?

I remember that episode of star trek TOS A Taste of Armageddon or perhaps the future you describe would be more like the movie Robot Jox
That's ok my friends know that unless the H-bomb goes off, my brain is still alive!
Ethical Killing Machine? Like military intelligence?
I bet it's extremely flammable.
Probably no more so than the existing water barrier asphalt.
Maybe FireFox and Emacs could one day merge...
Does emacs read mail? If so it could happen, at least according to Zawinski's Law.
