Still.. 6 dedicated help desk people for 500 users sound like they need to hire better users,,, or get better software or equipment.. Let's say that they only spend half of their 8 hour day helping someone.. That's 120 hours a week.. divided by 500 users that means that every user has to spend 14 minutes a week having the help desk, help them.. Doesn't seem too bad, but that's 56 minutes in a month, for EVERY user.. so about 500 hours in a month in which the user and the help desk are getting paid, but the equipment isn't doing what it's supposed to.
I think that censoring ads is a little different than censoring search results. I also doubt they were allowing ads that were on the opposite site of the fence as yours. I think you will find that all forms of advertising providers reserve the right to deny an ad.. I don't think that means that they are necessarily taking a stance for or against a specific thing, but are more likely trying to avoid conflicts that may or may not offend a larger pool of advertisers. Although it seems to be integrated their ad business is different than their search business.
It depends.. When traveling it can be handy to have a backup if you find yourself in a position where you have a big spending day. I really haven't had any problems here in the states (and I have Wells Fargo BTW).. Although it may have to do with spending trends that might raise a flag.. for example I got a job driving truck. They gave me a call to check on me, which was nice I thought.. never declined anything, and never had a problem at all, or any calls thereafter.. Now when I went to Europe, I had two debit cards as well as a credit card. I called all of them to let them know, and had no problems with declines.. but did have daily limits of 300 on each debit card, which is pretty much par for the course.. So having 2 (plus some travelers checks) was handy at times.

I don't think that wealth makes people unhappy.. I do think that we hit a wall where fear of losing wealth by some, has made our society in general unhappy. Fear is what caused company after company to lay off people.. people laid off can not afford to spend, thereby reinforcing that the decision to lay people off was the right one.. So now we are in a position where the government is having to try (who knows if they will succeed) and throw money out there to create jobs, so that people will have money to spend, and companies will need to hire again. The thing is, that many of the same people who are bitching loudest about spending government money to solve the problem, are not hiring. We can't just keep supporting such a large portion of the population on unemployment forever.. I myself spent a good part of a year on unemployment, and I know several others that are about a year and a half into it. The extensions keep coming, because they have to, otherwise we are going to have an even greater homeless population. I finally lucked into a pretty good gig, and been there for about a half a year.. but I know it's tough out there... I am perhaps no better than the mega corporations that I am complaining about, because of what I lived through I am hording my money as best I can until things pick up for everyone and I can feel a little more comfortable that if I lost this job, I could find another.. To have options is happiness, and freedom IMHO and right now the options are mighty slim.

Separating what is terrorism from what is just crazy is a bit hard, because terrorism is in itself just crazy. I put the Ft Hood thing in the same category as Columbine, based on the evidence available. To assign it a more nefarious plot is speculation.

Just as you can fail a test on anything and not be stupid.. You can fail these tests and not be "drunk" even in the legal sense. I know it still chaps some peoples hide, but it is legal to drink and drive. It is illegal to allow your blood chemistry to reach a certain level, and then drive.. Police tend to be gung-ho at times and exaggerate.. An example was a news story where the cops raided these people who were raising chickens for cock-fighting.. The cop actually said to the news people.. "And these chickens are running loose around here with children around !".. Implying that the chickens were like dangerous pit bulls or something.. They're freaking chickens.. So what are the chances that someone who has been drinking, but still legally driving are going to be charged ?.. I'd say pretty good.
I don't see why your so disturbed by what you call lies. You would perhaps prefer to live in a world of documentaries and biographies, with no place for fiction, fantasy or imagination. That's a pretty boring place if you ask me. Most people (surely not you) that have problems with this, appear to have serious problems in telling fact from fiction, and thus feel that someone is trying to get something over on them.. that's paranoia.. paranoia will destroy ya.. I've been an AT&T mobile customer for a bit over 2 years now and I don't like their service or support.
Why are you still with them ?.. If it's because they are the only game in your town, then you do like their service.. If it's because they are the only one who has the phone you want, then you do like their support.. Your with them for a reason.. it's just more fun to bitch.
So, America's worst cellphone company has replaced your phone twice. I can understand your annoyance at having a phone that keeps having to be replaced, but it seems like T-Mobile is doing their part to help you. Just a suspicion, but I think you'll be annoyed no matter who your cellphone carrier is.

I would say it's always your own fault, because everything that happened in your life prior to that moment, led to you working for that company at that moment. If asked to work overtime, you have two choices, do it or not.. If you do it, it's your choice, so your fault. Resenting and analyzing others decisions and actions that result in a situation that requires working overtime, doesn't take away from the fact that it is your choice to work it. If your life situation is such that you have to work it, or starve, again all the choices you have made prior to then are yours, and whose fault is that ?
The thing is, there is no compensation for the victim of a HIPAA violation. Yes the government can issue a fine, but it's basically just more income for them.. I know of a case where someone who works in a pharmacy was fired based on prescriptions that he filled at another pharmacy chains store.. The managers knew each other, and information was shared.. obvious HIPAA violation. Wrongful termination may get him somewhere, but the HIPAA law isn't going to get him squat.
Online banking is great.. love it, but as you said there are limited companies that can accept funds electronically.. For example my AT&T bill is paid, but a check is mailed.. My T-Mobile bill is instantly transfered.. The problem with it, is that you have to pay well ahead of the due date on bills, and account for things like weekends and holidays as well as guessing how long the mail will take to arrive.. with most utilities you have enough room to work, but trying to time your rent to avoid a late charge is just too tricky for me, so I do that one in person.. But it would be nice if I didn't have to.
There is something seriously wrong with all these anti AT&T people.. It's like people who stay in a bad relationship where the cops are at their door every so often, yet continue to stay together.. For instance there have been many commercials where the commercial was playing, and the background music was playing, but the voice over wasn't.. I have also experienced it a few time on some programs, but that is more rare.

Well contrary to modern day practices, beating is not necessary to arrest someone. Even people that physically resist arrest should not be beaten. The amount of force required to arrest someone is what is required. Beating someone because your pissed off that they resisted means your in the wrong job. Everyone gets pissed off when someone doesn't do what you tell them to, that does not mean that beating them as punishment is ok. Cops are not, and should not be, in the punishment business. (that's a different department)
They had phenomenal growth, and the growth they had in data users were people who used more data than the data users before them.. So they threw some money at the problem, and then threw some more at it the next year.. That it was less money than the year before, is probably based on sales figures of new phones, with some recession panic built in.. Of course they have had the luxury of having the jesus phone exclusivity, but now things are changing with Android.. Should they have spent even more ?.. probably, because they could ride the Android train just as well as the next guy, but I am sure they are reluctant to stress out the network even more by adding Androids to the mix.. thing is, they will probably end up doing it sooner or later.. I guess my point was, the assumption that they are not spending ANY money on their network, is just false.
