That's exactly what I'm saying. Since these "contest" spams will be from the contest organization (as in, not from actual spammers), I would imagine they won't have the headers that indicate the mails were from spam-relaying servers out there on the net. So how are contestants supposed to use filtering-based-on-host-IP measures in their spam filtering application??

That's lame, though. Just because their previous stuff was buggy as hell doesn't make it OK for them to keep doing so... I have pretty reasonable standards, I'll tolerate some bugs here and there, but I don't consider it acceptable to allow total show-stopper bugs that render the game unplayable (your health never going up pretty much makes it impossible to continue playing the game)...

Um, since when are super skilled under-the-rader hackers a myth? If they're so good that they never get caught, then they definitely ARE "Superhackers". Of course, we wouldn't know if we never hear about them.

The most advanced hackers will change whatever data they feel like changing, in such subtle ways that no one ever notices. We might not have many (any?) cases of this, but that's the whole point - if you're subtle enough, you'll never get caught.

My high school still has absolutely zero knowledge of some of the hacks I pulled, and they never will know. I know of some friends' hacks (done to actual online systems) that were never found, and again, likely never will be. This doesn't make my or my friends' hacks some kind of mythological/theoretical/make-believe events that never really happened.

Okay, here's the first question I have, and I'm sure many others wonder the same. How will spam be combatted when it's not real spam? For example, Spam Assassin checks actual mail server names and addresses to see if they are on known spammer lists and so on. Won't extremely useful/effective features like these be overriden by the fact that these spam emails are intentionally sent and won't be from any known spam-relaying mail servers??

Ouch, Bethesda seems to be making a bad name for themselves with Oblivion, in terms of software bugs. I don't mean to "troll" but my girlfriend's game has been screwed up multiple times, including the health bar no longer increasing, or the game bugging in such a manner that a quest could never be completed. We searched forums and contacted support about these issues (among others), with no solution ever found. Luckily I haven't encountered such extreme problems myself, but I have noticed small bugs from time to time. Regardless, such showstoppers as mentioned above are pretty unbelievable for a $70+ game of such supposedly high stature.

Yeah, I was going to say that adding a keyboard like that not only makes the controller seem like one of those horrible oversized cell phones, but at the same time, defeats the purpose of having a 360.

If I wanted to be chatting online I would just use my $1500 PC... The voice chat on 360 is great, but text chat could easily take away that "simple yet effective" kind of feel that the 360 has. I hold a lot of value in the fact that I can just press the power button on the console, sit wherever I want with my wireless controller, and play some games in a few moments.

However, now that the controller will weigh double what it did before and probably feel pretty uncomfortable to use for long periods, well... it's probably not going to be all that enjoyable of an experience.

That's fine, I understand your view for sure. I have two friends who just basically quit their jobs and visited Thailand, Cambodia and a few neighbouring countries for a few months (not mutual friends, two seperate people from different countries who happened to take VERY similar "road trips" at exactly the same time). I got to hear a LOT of anecdotes about the cultures, have seen a damned huge library of photos from all over the place amongst these cultures, including (in no particular order) beautiful scenery, expensive homes, lowest-class slums full of filth and such, former prisons where people were tortured, umm restaurants, hotels, businesses, religious structures...

Regardless, I still don't agree with never questioning commonly-accepted beliefs and ideas. I don't really care who, or what belief system, or how religiously people demand obedience to these ideas. I try to question beliefs and ideas in all areas of life. I try to question ideas that I've long accepted, since simply having accepted an idea doesn't neccesarily make it worthwhile or "good". Especially since, as you grow as a person, your values change, your "library" of experiences changes, and your view of the world changes. If you're not willing to question the ideas you've developed or adopted over the years (and the ideas others around you hold), you're stuck in a perpetual state of sameness, holding yourself back from the person you "could" be, by grabbing hold of ideas and sticking to them just because they "always worked just fine".

I 100% disagree with the notion that leaders should be respected and loved simply because they are political leaders. In fact, they should be subject to even harsher criticism than others just to ensure that they are worthy of being leaders of their country.

Any idea held for a long period and upheld by "everyone" on a society is just that much more worthy of being challenged for the sheer reason that no one is allowed to question it - it is being upheld not because of logic, reason or morality, but rather long-unchallenged cultural values of "OMG you just don't do that, man" with no particular reason or explanation (other than the most probable reason, blatantly obvious to outsiders: comfort and convenience for the leading political party who can rule unchecked).

Even the most basic musings of the situation should make this obvious.
