Sim City Classic (Micropolis) works fine on my Linux system and Sim City 2000 works on my XP system.
Have they really added any got to have features to their many updates of the game, or are they just trying to capitalize on a well-known title to rake in more cash?
I have never bought anything from an online ad, so they are wasting my time and theirs by showing them to me. Any business model based on "views" and not solely on "click-thrus" is bogus.

I follow technology news, so when I see a new product that interests me, I will GO LOOK for it. I don't need companies throwing constant ads in my face for stuff I don't want. Most of the time they just annoy me and make me less likely to buy their product in the future, such as with forced trailers on DVDs/BluRays (Yes, I'm talking to YOU Disney).
My personal theory is that advertising is like The Force - it has a strong effect on the weak-minded.
The Tom Swift Jr. series written under the pseudonym of "Victor Appleton II" ended in 1971, but yes, there have been additional books since then using the name Tom Swift. Those appear to be updated versions of the character rather than a continuation of the original Tom Swift and Tom Swift Jr. series. I haven't read what Wikipedia refers to as the Third, Fourth, and Fifth series, so I can't comment on whether they are as interesting as I found the Second series when I was a kid.
You might want to check if the books are currently in print. Many series I loved when I was growing up have been out of print for years. The Lensmen, The Skylark of Space, Tom Swift Jr., Tom Corbett, Space Cadet, Carson of Venus, and on and on, are all partially or fully unavailable on paper.
Fortunately a lot of the older stuff that is falling into the public domain is being made available in eBook format and is either free or extremely cheap (like $1.99). A Kindle or a Nook might be a good recommendation for someone looking to explore scifi classics.
I grew up reading the Tom Swift Jr. series, so I would also recommend them, but good luck finding them. As far as I can tell, they've been out of print since the last book came out in the 70's.
Why not Andre Norton's own books? She wrote many excellent scifi novels in the 50s, 60s, and 70s. The Stars are Ours, Star Born, Galactic Derelict, etc. Many of them are back in print, often with multiple stories collected into longer books.
People have seen economic collapses coming. There were some who predicted the 2008 financial collapse years before it happened. They were either ignored, or in cases like Brooksley Born, actively prevented from doing anything to prevent it and driven out of office.

Global Warming might lead to catastrophic ecological damage and the vast majority of climate scientists see it coming, but there are powerful special interests with huge amounts of money that are opposed to the changes needed to avoid or reduce the impacts.
More and more virus strains are appearing that are resistant to many or all antibiotics, but have we stopped giving low levels of antibiotics to livestock, which hastens the day when viruses are immune to all our drugs? No.
If the human race manages to exterminate itself, it will probably be because the moneyed special interests always take the short term profit and ignore the long term peril.
So these are the jerks who wiped out most of the first six seasons of Dr. Who?

I'd settle for unstinkable.
going to pay a monthly charge to get an overpriced data plan for my car!
You do realize this is not the same thing as Javascript, right? Far fewer sites use actual Java compared to Javascript.
So, yes, obviously they've sold out.
Ember?
Damn near anything could be said to be "possible in fifty years"! Why is this news?

This could lead to Global Cooling!
So basically, religions are like distros?
Scientists build the ultimate computer. The first thing they ask it is, "is there a god?". The computer answers "there is now!"

Apparently whoever modded you down didn't catch the reference to One Night In Bangkok .
God created the universe last Tuesday and any memories of earlier times were also created at that point.
