So you're saying $180 is less than $80? I'm assuming your post was sarcastic... Regardless, you forgot to tally the cost of the game + the windows system.
... is that you are not an expert in your field. You are simply educated in it. Many times I've had someone with a masters hired along side me and immediately try to boss me around and tell me how to do my job.
Wherever you land, please do not get a big head because of your masters degree. Be humble, listen to those with experience in your field and follow their advice. You can only accel in IT if your peers admit that you're the right one for that new job opening.
After the first two paragraphs (And deciding I was too smart to read that article), I just scrolled down to keep looking at the totally-out-of-context pictures...
Figures. I get moderated as troll for bringing up a VERY true viewpoint that happens to be unpopular. Moderator... why dont you reply if you think I'm trolling? Truth sucks, huh?
Sooner or later the open source movement is going to have to stop relying on "its more secure!". What are you going to do when someone takes this excuse away?
If you put out a better product, you'll attract more and more users. Simply put.
Actually, in my haste to post and measure my geekdick, I didn't stop to think.
He's right... an XML based calendar (not RSS... why does it have to be labeled 'rss'?? its XML!!) standard would be better because most languages have XML parsers built in, and therefore the application following would increase.
I still can't find a good iCal aggregator or application. (Yes, I know about sunbird but flat out, posting a calendar does not work.)
Why is it everytime a manufacturer decides to offer linux preinstalled, it's in areas of low income (generally speaking)?
Why is linux always paired hand in hand with "they cant afford computers... soooo we're giving them this beefed up wristwatch that runs linux!" Then in the US, we get the shaft... "Americans can afford windows!"
Umm... SO WHAT? Why make me buy a ford focus at the price of a lexus, when the lexus is FREE?
There's no windows in this house, assholes. Sell a laptop with nothing on it.
Actually, it's hard to find a site that *doesn't* render correctly with firefox. The problem is that IE doesn't render sites correctly and/or they're too freeform in allowing things to get by. They dont fully comply with standards.
Then when a correct site renders improperly in IE, the author changes the site to accomodate, breaking it in standards compliant browsers, like firefox.
Unfortunately it keeps every version you've installed in your "add or remove programs" folder. Uninstall one and you uninstall the whole browser.
Lucky for me it saved my bookmarks.:)
Actually, I thought it looked more like Crow from Mystery Science Theater 3000.

You know... I tried this product, and it asked me to download a media player. Then I thought to myself... "hey, maybe I should try linux..."
And if you look at the sun with a telescope or magnifying glass, you can actually see solar flares...
I've been a web developer and designer for 12 years. I currently work at Disney Internet Group.
We operate Disney.com, DisneyWorld.com, ESPN.com, Movies.com, Go.com, ABCNews.com, MLB.com, NFL.com, NBA.com, NASCAR.com, and *many* others.
Any other questions? Or would you like to continue mocking my technical ability?
... and I've never heard of this.
Why not? I'm a technically inclined 20 something who would have used this, had I known about it.
I think that is the real problem here. Their target demographic didnt even know about it!
... then why do my non-geek network's browser stats reflect firefox as high as 20%?

Ruby on Rails is a giant load of crap. There's nothing rapid about it, the language is archaic, the support is minimal, and it's slow.
RoR is a step in the wrong direction and god only knows how it gained this small cult following.

... they encourage you to blog (Disney Internet Group). The only thing is, the blog is on an intranet...

... it's called iCal, and it's already here.
and I thought *I* went to extreme lengths to prevent neighbors from stealing my wifi...
I noticed that. Definitely the same web designer... lol
I'm glad to see a story posted with no opinion added on. "Apple recalls iBook batteries because apple SUCKS and PCs RULE!@!", for example.
Anyone who uses VoIP from a telephone company has to pay a bill, and has a phone number. Ergo, routing an address to an IP is not necessary. Duh.
.... report it, and keep your damn opinion to yourself.

The first quote you pasted was from Ariana Huffington, not Hillary Rosen... you should probably clear that up. :)

Does it really matter? The mars rovers don't have air in their tires.
