    We can only hope. I can see big networks bossing the show around: "listen if you don't do this were not going to renew you or we'll give you considerable less amount of money if we do". I'm not saying that's whats going on here, but its very plausable in this day and age of corporate conglomerates.

    Is it only me seeing that some of the people up against him seem to have no place in jeopardy. Granted I didn't watch most of his games but from the few I've seen, I think my 13 yr old cousin could of gotten more questions right than them!

    well, the way i look at it, some spin and deception in a movie is a hell of alot better than the spin and deception that ship troops over to other parts of the world to get killed!

    In my day (back 7 years ago), having high speed access in the dorm rooms was a luxory for me!

    I went to SUNY Binghamton. I chose it because 1)price 2)one of the better state schools around with a good cs program. Having an Ipod would of been a nice perk but just the fact they had free high speed and cost of 15-30 thousand a year less than a private school was all the persuasion i needed.

    Same reason i wonder why ceos and other higher ups needs these high multi-million dollar salaries when alot of them just embezzled or even plain out right don't know how to run a corporation...

    Sh*t I'll be a ceo for only 6 figures and I think i can do it better too!!! Outsource the ceo jobs to me!!!! ;)

    Exactly. The one who do benefit are the very rich and they make up a real small percentage of the us. When will the government realize its us "common" people that really make the economy turn and if we lose wages or jobs because corporate america feels it needs an extra couple of hundred million in their pockets, less money will be pumped into the economy and we will see funky things like we do now(shakey stock market and such).

    You have a valid point. At some point in time though, i would hope that people would complain to ati about lack of proper support for linux and that if enough did, they would do something about it. The gaming world is still dominated by windows so they probably don't see the need to properly support linux.

    In a perfect world, what I would like to see is insurance rates NOT go up for a minor accident that wasn't your fault. Its disturbing to know a assh*le driver, entirely his fault, can hit you and you have to suffer the consequences of his actions. Unless these black boxes can be used to give drunk driver stiffer sentences, there useless to me...

    now im not saying anything bad against james. i dont know much about him and it sucks what he is going through. this is just a general comment. nobody has anything bad to say ever when someone dies. i mean i met this guy one time(my best friends ex's brother) and you can easily classify him as scum of the earth. he was sick in the head, did drugs and just wasted away his life. a couple of years later he dies getting hit by a car crossing a major highway he probably shoudnt of tried crossing. made front cover of the newspaper and they portrayed him as a kid who did no wrong. the moral of the story, dont always believe everything you read in newspaper!

    I agree with you there. The risk online/offline is always there, its just getting blown way out of proportion.

    In light of the recent rise of identity theft, is there a good reason to be concern? I don't know. I'm not worried about it though....

    your right. i've been unproductive but when i get out of my madden fix, i plan to get more productive in other it areas. i like what i do and dont see a reason to go program full time(though i will better myself through script knowledge).

    some people though may legitmately not have the time either. my work day with commute is at least 11 hours. i can see that being longer in some other people's cases. throw in a kid or two and how much time you have to better yourself...zero

    hard to get good when you cant even find programming jobs.

    since my programming "skills" went down the sh*tter, i cant help out but out of curiosity, when you send back comments on there buffer overflow, do you give them a chance to resubmit or just reject them all together?

    I wouldnt take a pay cut but i would move out of state for the same salary only because i live on long island where the cost of living is HIGH and taking a job in another state with the same pay is like getting a raise for me.

    i learned the hard way, its not what you know, its WHO you know. 2001 i graduated college with a computer science degree. i had to work in blockbuster for a year because i couldnt find NOTHING. then an old next door neighbor came in one day, told me about a possible sys admin opening at his company and offerred to hand in my resume. the rest is history. 2 years later im still here. sure i have my qualms about the company, but i'm employed in a field i dont mind so much(as compared to programming) and very grateful to be lucky to finally get my foot in the door....

    now i haven't seen jersey girl yet but was it a good movie? i can tell you one reason why it didnt do that great, advertising. i mean there was another movie that came out right around the same time(i wanna say the girl next door but i could be wrong) and during commercial break i seen trailers for that move literally 5-7 times a day for about a months time. you know how many i saw for jersey girl in that time period?..just one.

    this has nothing to do with anything in kevin smith's power but i cant help but feel the lack of advertising jersey girl got help hurt the box office gross.

    Your telling me. I shudder everytime I have to call Dell or IBM to get a hardware problem under warranty fixed. Anyone with a half a brain can tell what the problem is but that doesn't manner because you still have to go through their baby steps. I can understand why they do this(personal home computers) but for business they should come up with a little better standard.

    Fine whatever, annoying but I can deal with it. What I can't deal with is the red tape(especially in IBM) with all the tranferring around they do. I don't even know where to look to get help anymore sometimes. I call one number they tell me to call so and so, I call so and so and they tell me no you have to call this guy! Its very frustrating when you have little time on your hands to deal with such nonsense.

    I guess what I'm saying I agree with you. Don't manner where its coming from it still sucks all the same.

    exactly! and its no soo much of living in fear of terrorist but the fact IT WILL happen. i mean you die you die, their are other things that'll kill you first before terrorist like stupidity and murder from a nutso. but the damage that'll be caused fro flying cars will be tremendous from those crashes. we dont have good enough laws now controlling the roads(drunk driving) and allow these guys to fly, come on.....

    sure that's all we need now, make it easier for terrorist to crash stuff into buildings. not to mention people cant drive on the road as it is let alone in the air with the possibility of taking out houses including my own.

    yup, there too many idiosyncricies in each country that its impossible for any one person to know them all. well maybe not impossible but you wont have a job/money for spending all that time trying to learn all the different languages in the world and all those customs...

    me, yea im uncultured and i make no apologies for it either since i dont plan on leaving this country anytime soon if ever. i can go on but my rant is all philosphical from here on out and take many many pages to write so i'll stop...

    This is the me approach, unless i'm experimenting, I dont get anything when its first release because there's always problems.. ANYTHING. be it linux/microsoft ps2, etc.

    I'm not found of microsoft, but for me its just a make sense issue because there always seems to be a slew of problems when something(this goes for any software) is realised, no matter what it is and i would prefer to wait when they have time to sort of most of the issues
