Yeah, you beat me to the chase.
I recall the line was in both of the previous games, so really it could have been GTA3 or vice city.
*or* if you wanted to take the newspaper literally, it might have actually been GTA for playstation.
Well isn't that the basis of most trojans?
"I promise to clean your room, do your homework, give you neck rubs, check for typos, and build a perpetual motion machine!"
If they really wanted to, they could have tacked on a trojan that had absolutely nothing to do with the screensaver and call it that anyway.
I'm actually surprised the trojan doesn't DDoS Lycos.
in other words: In soviet russia, computer hack you!
but honestly, I think foo has a point. Especially in China, where sysadmins don't give a flying fart in space if their machines are used to DDoS major corporations.
exposure may be the thing that hurts many people trying to spread their product. Although linux was held in high regard among many people for a long time, a good majority of the mainstream populace are still unaware of it simply because mainstream people are fed mainstream media.
according to my irc channel, the state of the movie not being about hell, not being based on mars, not having space marines but instead swat teams, and having mutated virus monsters instead of hellspawn is analagous to something you would see being done to Jenna Jameson in one of her many films.
also, Here's an editorial on the movie.
I think you have a real point there. VOD (Video On Demand) is closely moving into the spotlight, too, which is probably a signal that people are moving towards more personalized entertainment rather than having a set menu, so to speak, of entertainment confectionary. (score: 5, witty):-)
DVDs are also becoming more popular, even with things the general public don't hear much about (such as Happy Tree Friends, Strong Bad Emails, and Mega64)
I for one use the computer much more often for my media needs than I watch television. News in less than a second is far superior to having to wade through advertisements that you can't skip.
this coupled with the earlier report that there would be "advances that would extend the age of a person to 1,000 years of age" sounds like I'll be alive for a looooooong time.
the real issue here is the budget being much tighter than anyone can imagine. I mean 1 billion didn't sound like so much back when we had the surplus.
Now, according to this site, we're losing more than $1 billion per day.

I want to take a hit with this first post. I should probably be at 80% insightful, 20% misspelled.

i can certainly relate the advantage of word-of-mouth to a game site that i'm working for. and advertisement via slashdot. :-P

Couldn't this just be inserted into the GPL with a special supplement? It would be like GPL with plugins. :D
