It seems like if you are resorting to something like this, you obviously do not trust your significant other. If there isn't trust, the relationship probably shouldn't (continue to) exist.
As far as.NET support goes, I can attest that managed C++ (console) applications work for me under Wine as of the latest releases. This is important because it may be a long time before Mono is able to support managed C++ applications at all. But for pretty much all other cases, Mono is probably your better bet to get.NET code running. Especially with the recent announcement with regards to WinForms 2.0 support.
It sounds like your friend was calling through gizmo and not grandcentral. I did this on accident initially when I set up gizmo and grandcentral. In order to call out through grandcentral instead, you need to log into your account at the grandcentral webpage, or the mobile version of their webpage and dial from your address book. There is currently a maemo application in the works here that will allow you to dial your grandcentral contacts without opening your browser.
Sounds just like the PC vs. Mac ad! How about stop associating PC with Windows and realize that PC's can also run other operating systems like Linux (read: Ubuntu) that make it just as less susceptible to spyware, popups, and "other garbage."
Try CrossOver Office (http://codeweavers.net/) then. I've found it to be much more stable than the latest stable build of wine, even though it itself is based off of wine.
Then try out Traveler. Requires no 3d accelerator card, uses CPU only, and has a great community with great people.

And find me on the Tech Worlds server:)
As far as VR communities go, there are still a number that exist today. One of the best close knit community style ones is Traveler, which you can find here: http://digitalspace.com/traveler/index.html which has been around since early 1996. Although the ownership has changed hands a number of years ago. It is still actively visited by regulars like myself and many others. It's definitely a unique environment and has a friendly community.
Amen to that. Too bad there's all these people putting Dayton down. Come on, they don't need to rub it in. I think though saying all of Ohio is like Dayton is an extremely incorrect statement.
I don't think it's accurate to insinuate that all VB programmers have messy code, it's mostly all the beginners and lazy people that write unorganized code.
I for one write neat VB code every time, I learned that even before I started coding in VB (also learned to write neatly/efficiently in C++, etc. as well).
I still think the 2.5 gigapixel photo is the best. The detail is incredible, the photo is interactive, allowing zoom capability. You can zoom all the way in and read license plates and see parking passes.

A "confirmation" from an internal corporate investigation is worth about as much as my toilet.
How much is your toilet worth?
This isn't something new for Youtube, so why is just *now* complaining? It seems a bit suspect that he says this after becoming a part of Apple Music.
I think it would have been better if Safari actually supported as much HTML5 and related features as other browsers before making a move like this.
Well at least it wasn't Asimov's first law that was being broken here.

Heatware Most frequently trusted on many For Sale/For Trade forums because of their strong stance on scammers.
They could call it GooTube... er wait..
In Soviet Russia, the security Czar appoints Apple!
I'm not sure if they should go open source, it seems like a RISCy move.

On CrossOver Office or Wine of course.
would it be a suprise to find out that nobody knows my name?
Yes, if you're at Cheers.

I for one welcome our non-microsoft microsoft employee overlords!

Maybe they inserted some sort of ascii pr0n into the header of the source.
Since the site has obviously been slashdotted, here is the google cache for those who still wish to view the page.

Am I the only one who's watched the first HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy "movie"?
Here's a link to it, I remember renting it a long while ago.

I've been doing this with my 128mb USB watch for quite awhile now. There's a few USB jumpdrive linux distros out there.
Here, Here, Here, and Here too.
But this is all provided whatever PC you hook it up to allows to boot from USB (usually USB-ZIP).
