    Even though one reference drive was capable of SATA-300 speeds, all tests were conducted on a SATA-150 interface for the sake of parity. Comparing apples to apples, the SATA-150 performance of the Maxtor drive was the best.

    So testing a drive below its maximum speed is apple to apples?

    except that someone eventually will develop space weapons - it would be the height of arrogance to assume that just because the u.s. backs off, everyone will - and we really don't want to get a late start in that race.
    Typical arguments that Americans have used a lot of times in history to justify starting a lot of things. I guess this kind of reasoning will pass from generation to generation until just there's no generation to pass it to.

    First impressions: Their own antispy ware complains a couple of times. One because the URL browsing DLL is being changed (whatever the fuck that means) and another one:

    Microsoft AntiSpyware has detected a change to your Internet Security Zone 'Restricted sites'. This zone contains Web sites that could potentially damage your computer or data..

    Warning: This change sets your zone below the minimum security level.

    This happens after launching IE7 for the first time.

    My Zend studio plugin still works, which is a good thing.

    Trillian just crashed, I assume it uses some crap from IE.

    The icon is a bit different.

    No option to keep IE6 as well.

    Just typed my first URL (www.elpais.es, a Spanish newspaper). IE7 asks me if I want each site I visit to be verified with their Phishing Filter.

    SpyBot asks me if it should let IE7 change the first page.

    I don't think this is gonna be around for much longer.

    Yeah you're right, it does sound like they're using old technology. Thank goodness we here in the US use the latest and greatest space shuttle... oh wait.

    They are using technology that is OLD *and* unproven. Have they ever landed anyone on the moon?

    No matter what, do not load the old Sierra games. I did it a few months ago, only to find out that 320x200 sucks in a 21" monitor, sound is horrible ... Do not ruin what you remember of these games by watching them again. Plus what's the point ? If you finished the games already, the fun is gone anyway.

    Just let everyone know about your problems so they have an urge to fix them before their business suffer your anger.
    I have a problem with Dotster, they send me one email a day with spam and if you reply to it you get an autoanswer "due to the spam we receive we don't accept emails".
    Needless to say I'm moving somewhere else, and as soon as time permits, I'll buy dotstersucks.com (in a different registrar :-)) and start my anti-dotster campaign.
