Actually the swamp wasn't CG. If you watch the making of you see them really in the set. In fact several things that I assumed were CG turned out to be real.
Some like Weird Al are already popular and others like MC Lars are getting there. Their songs have mainstream appeal and do talk about other things than technology. They also don't get too overly technical with their songs that are more tech driven. However, others like ytcracker who raps in java during one song are simply too geeky to be mainstream
But you are right it may as well be a new series as much as the cast and focus of the show has changed. I still really like the show but it has changed quite a bit in the past few seasons. After all how many plot lines can you have with the G'ould being the only real enemies. They also have / had the replicators but they are too static as character group to be of interest for too long.
Keep in mind that a lot of corporate employees have to change their password every 60 - 90 day. Myspace users probably keep the same password forever. I have different sets of passwords, the one I use for sites like myspace slashdot fark etc never changes. It's fairly secure but since I haven't changed it in at least 6 years it's easy to remember. Whereas if I had to change it a lot it would probably be much simpler.
It's not Nintendo's fault people are getting overzealous however based on these reports they should make a stronger strap available for people who already have a Wii to purchase at a reasonable price the current strap costs what maybe a dollar to manufacture? And start making the new and improved strap stock on all new consoles manufactured. They could even pull off a great cheap PR stunt and send free replacement straps to current Wii owners.
If Nintendo is smart they will milk this for all that it is worth. "Oh no people are soooooo excited and having soooo much fun playing our new revolutionary console that they can't hold on to our controller. So because we are worried about our consumer here's a free super duper deluxe strap so you and your stuff will be safe."
However I don't think people should really be able to sue Nintendo because they are a butterfingers.
Also during Gulf War 1 Iraq was considered to have I believe the 3rd largest standing army. It's tanks while unable to stand up to US firepower were not really that old. We still had armored units in the field that were from the same time period as the Russian made Iraqi tanks. And lets not forget that we had aircraft in service Such as the Tomcat that were considered to be on par with the Iraqi MiGs.
While there are many pros and cons to BPL. I don't think points 1 and 2 really have much effect for most people. If my power goes out my computer is down anyway. I suppose you could have a laptop but thats only gonna give you another 3 hours assuming of course that you are using dial up or your laptop has a DSL modem built in. Because if you are depending on cable or a wireless router then thats going out along with your power.
Not really off topic. If Linux = Japan and MS = America then expect MS to ramp up it's competition against Linux.
Look at what ie is starting to do against Firefox. Like America in WW1 ie defeated Netscape (germany) then rested on the laurels and stopped innovating. (When WW2 started America's army was nowhere near ready) Then when attacked by Japan (firefox) America (ie) immediately began working to defeat their enemy.
Nearly everyone who has used firefox prefers it over ie. However that doesn't matter. As long as ie is good enough the general public will not adopt it. Same with Linux. Unless Linux can become as easy to install and use PLUS come up with some superior features most users will never switch. Being free is not good enough as for most users as for them Windows is essentially free being that it comes on their computers.
And don't start in on me about how linux is ready for the desktop. I tried to switch an still desperately want to. But I can't get SUSE nor Ubuntu to recognize my Linksys wireless card that windows picks up and installs automatically, Without the need to spend four days fighting with ndiswrappers.
Thanks for the comments
to the parent post we are working under strict file size limitations. We are way over our allotted amount of space on the school server and wmv give us the best file size to quality. I'm trying to find a way to use quicktime as it looks a lot better but I can't get the filesize down far enough.
The Connie Chung and Buddha were deliberate mistakes. As for the acting, you work with what is available and willing and the drama geeks overactors that they are fit the over the top roles we are aiming for.
And I have to agree with you about the coffee mug shot but I'm the editor not the director or the cinematographer so I can only work with what I'm given.
This also creates an incentive for amateur/student/independent filmmakers to host their films on youtube.
Prior to this my film group has been holding out and hosting the videos ourselves because of the crappy quality of the flash videos. But with this we might actually be able to make some money so our next film could have a budget. As of now everything comes out of our pockets. We just made a tv pilot on ten dollars.
/Shameless plug for said tv comedy about a new AD's first day at a tv station. Affiliated //not a youtube link and not a rip of anchorman
Just make it work with my linksys wireless card.
I tried to switch to linux but after four days of trying various web tutorials on how to use ndiswrapper with both suse and ubuntu. I finally gave up.
Better is a relative term. I looked into the other DAPs on the market before I bought my ipod and for what I wanted to use it for none of the others could top it.
I would argue that there is also a third type that appears as addiction but isn't. Boredom. If I have nothing else to do but sit at home I'm either going to watch tv or get online or both. If I'm at work with nothing to do which is often (student job) I'm going to get online. The net result is that I spend many hours a day online. But if I had something else to do or if somebody called in the middle of this post I wouldn't hesitate to head out the door without even finishing the post./obviously no one called
I'm 22 and I pretty much live on the internet. When I'm at work I have a lot of free time on my hands so thats what I do. When I'm at home even if i'm doing something else I still have aim up and log onto facebook periodically throughout the day. During my normal day to day life I rarely go more than a few hours without logging on much less days. That said If I'm doing something like my summer job were it could be weeks between chances to get online, it's not like I get depressed or go through withdrawal symptoms. Now if someone was to habitually choose getting online over spending time with real people then that could be a problem.
Friend of mine was at the library (all the IT offices and severs are there so speeds are FAST) downloading linux distros. They saw all the traffic and had someone go see what he was doing. Didn't get in trouble but they wanted to make sure there was a legit reason he was downloading gigs of data.
I followed all those steps but every time it tries to load the linux kernal it crashes and rebots even installed it on the HD using another comp (worked fine) switched the HD back to the comp I want to use for a linux box but just keeps rebooting. Same when I tried to install SuSe.
I would consider myself an advanced user but sometimes things just don't work. I need to get another mobo (instead of this HP tatooed POS)and see if thats the problem.
I would agree that they should support old versions but at this point is there any reason for the home user not to upgrade to SP2? With the exception of buisness apps everything should be compliant by now.
Exactly. And before people start in on the if you don't know them why don't you delete them shpiel. Facebook has been a godsend to student filmmakers like me. It's a quick and easy way to contact people and send mass mesaages about meeting and shooting times. It's also great for group projects just add every one on facebook tag them in a note and voila instant discussion board to review a paper or script.
wikipedia.org
Yes yes I know it has it's problems but if you have no idea what something is like say Ruby On Rails it's a great starting place and usually has references to other articles where you can find more information. Plus if it is about some non controversial subject say what is IPv6 it's probably going to be the easiest up to date and most accurate place to find out the information.

What about Stargate SG1 The new class.

Maybe it's a revival of firefly codenamed Stargate Sg2 hands of blue. Hey I can dream can't I.

Obviously we inherited our brains from those on the B-ark. Which is why we always have such impeccably clean phones.

Does anyone know of a setup like this but for media (audio/video)?

thats easy to fix just link our old friend goatse and have some fun. "Land That Design Forgot" i am so stealing that.
After christmas the price will probably drop to $199 then a year or so later $149. Similar to what the game cube has done.
