    At the moment I don't see this being as big deal for home users. However for server farms the savings could be worth the investment.

    At the very least this will get more people to look at their game. I've never heard of this one before but as soon as I saw it was free I decided to dl and try it. Maybe Ill get hooked and buy it or maybe ill get bored and delete it. Either way I haven't lost anything and they've gained a potential sale from someone who would never have even looked at the game before.

    The Bible itself and many of the older translations were written way before copyright was even invented. It is only certain modern translations that are copyrighted. And even then it's not like the people who own those copyrights sue anyone for daring to quote their translation on the internet.

    doesn't really apply here as he represents a group protesting the environmental damage of putting a parking garage on top of a parking lot next to a graveyard in the middle of a city. Not something our apathetic student body is going to get worked up about. They are more concerned that until it's built they have to park 4 miles away and get a shuttle bus to drive them to school.

    This kid is a part of Students against violating the environment. Basically a student environmentalist version of PETA. He's been an annoyance to the school by protesting a parking garage. The school overreacted and expelled him, he's suing and will probably win, and the President of the school has resigned. /Former VSU student

    Dead Like Me had two seasons on showtime and has a DVD movie coming this spring. Sci-Fi was doing basically the same thing they did with Firefly. / I personally liked DLM.

    I agree, working on campus for the media center I was amazed at how dressed in street clothes I could walk into a classroom nod at a teacher and walk out with several hundred dollars worth of computers/tvs/projectors etc. carry them across campus and never be questioned. Reminds me of saying "You can go anywhere you want if you carry a clipboard and look busy"

    Means that his captcha word was "protests". Sometimes the randomly generated words match the story / comment so people post it at the bottom of the comment as an amusing sidenote.

    Here in the states Wal-mart never prices anything $4.95 or $4.95 because everyone is so used to it they just round up anyway. Instead what they do is make it an even $5 and advertise it as 2 for $10. Or like you said they make it some odd number like $4.23

    Thats a good point. To add my own example.

    I used to work at a sumer camp that had some waterfalls kids could climb to the top of and slide down. However in order to get to the top you had to climb a very narrow trail that was sometimes a little slippery. If you fell, stepped in a hole, or tripped over one of the many roots in the path you could easily fall over the side and drop/slide onto the rocks at the bottom. However, despite 200+ kids a day climbing it as far back as anyone knows there has never been an injury on that trail.

    Which is especially surprising considering some of the inventive ways kids have managed to injure themselves. Like the girl who was sweeping and accidentally smashed her hand through a window.

    I use Simplemonitor (pops) a widget for the yahoo widget engine (formerly Konfabulator) Pretty light weight and since I have two monitors I keep it on the far right where a quick glance can tell me if the slowdown is from being out of ram or processing power. If it's neither one of those that at least narrows down the possibilities to hard disk or usually need of a better graphics card.

    Sensor that triggers if helmet is removed that performs a quick lock. Entering the correct password returns to normal function. Entering anything else sends out a notification to command that the equipment has been captured. Command can then send false information to it.

    I disagree. Pharmaceutical companies, chemical companies, food companies, are all using science and scientific experiments in a contest to make their product better than their competitors. Even scientists that work at Universities are always competing against one another. They compete for funding, resources, and in different universities, to see who can find a solution first.

    When/if soldiers are replaced by robots then the primary target will increasingly shift towards the enemies economy. Attempting to destroy their ability to make war by destroying the manufacturing and economic base. Rather than just by targeting soldiers and other military targets.

    Frets on fire (Free PC version of GH2) It makes heavy use of OpenGL and gets 1 frame every 3 secs in vista but easily does 80fps on the same machine running XP. After Effects 7 also bluescreens alot I'm not sure f the reason but I suspect it's also related to the Opengl.

    Plus lets not forget that there is also the possibility that these aliens aren't that far away and got lucky. Or perhaps they aren't dissimilar from us figured out which planets are most likely to have life like theirs and checked those first.

    I've always hoped she would. I'd like to see a more adult series about an Auror during the initial rise of Lord Voldemort. Or maybe Charlie or someone like him looking for treasures for Gringotts. There are a lot of potential storylines and secondary characters that could be explored with even having to mention Harry Potter.
