How do you know what Gordon's motives were? I bet he wants more than anything to eliminate spam. You label him a professional litigant, but he's got some serious integrity for a shitty person. I can't believe that standing up against the courts was a calculated decision to maximize personal profit. How does he profit from not settling with an evil party? It's civil disobedience. When the laws are broken, good people will break the laws.

In the US, we are guaranteed a right to free speech. This includes a right to speak out against religion, or assemble clinics whose purpose is to cure people of religion. It's one of the few ways in which US remains more advanced than the old world, where the operators would probably be convicted of hate crimes.

Storm Trooper armor is riot gear. It's for protecting against rocks and small arms while they beat down demonstrators. Most non-smugglers won't have access to a blaster capable of blowing through one. Presumably, a gunpowder rifle wouldn't penetrate the armor, which is why the characters use loud and slow firing blasters.

A balanced diet means exactly that--balanced. Not too much, and not too little. You hear stuff like "olive oil is good". Obviously that doesn't mean to drink a cup of olive oil. Too much fat is bad, but not enough fat is probably worse. It's just that the latter is less common in wealthy nations, so you don't hear about it.
