more of quantity can turn in this case into more of quality.

video console. Man, I remember having the nintendo when it first came out. Every friend I saw I was like "HEY GUESS WHAT, I GOT A NINTENDO!" everybodY "WOAH." and we'd play for hours at Kid Icarus.
Nowadays, not so sure. Electronics are always great welcomed gifts from portable audio to entertainment systems or whatever. Anything with buttons that does beep beep beep.
the company's flagship product has just came out. Most of the time, nobody needs the power of a product that just came out, such as the 6800gt/ultra. People got it for doom 3 but not everybody plays the game at 1600x1200.
Perfect example is cpu's and video cards, the most expensif parts of a computer in general, is where most people get screwed when upgrading.
A new video card comes out, and we all know another one will in a few months (or heard of) or the prices will go down. Generally speaking, consumers will buy it the second it comes out to show it off like a kid in a civic with a 10 foot high spoiler on a 115hp(?) engine.
Upgrading, I see it in two different situations:
1) Your pc is really outdated and you need something of today that delivers power for whatever task. In this case, you'll want to see what the future will reserve and WHEN will the future product be released. The when is very important. Reading reviews is the best way to get informed with what's going on in the world of hardware.
If you do so but you don't need the latest of the latest to accomplish your tasks, you can still wait for the latest gen (or latest series) to come out in order to save $$ on buying what used to be #1.
IF you are impatient, do not get the latest. Honestly, wheres the important performance boost between an fx 55 and fx53? Big price difference but is it worth it? That's your job, researching what you REALLY need and not just look at the highest of the product line when ready to upgrade.
2) You need to upgrade one piece because you believe it will improve your life by zombifying you for more hours. That's fine.
One thing: when you want to upgrade lets say, ram. You need ram, well anytime is good BUT the latest costs a lot. Look at Corsair's XMS with the leds. WHO NEED LEDS? Is your case a discotech? Again with the civic reference...
********* TO SUM THIS BIG PILE OF WORDS UP Buy whenever, but not the latest if it has been just released cause you will just burn your cash and the corporations/companies will have a laugh.
Is it these kind of algorithms that the makers of benchmark tools to stresstest cpu's? I'm assuming thats what Prime95 does since its called PRIME but I could be wrong and I might be. Anybody to correct me?
Microsoft should feel lucky that their crappy browser is being anal probed. by finding exploits like this they are forced to "improve" it. Improve might be a big word but imagine if there were exploits but no viruses/trojans/whatever, you would think that M$ would fix these exploited holes?
Why need aol moviefon when Kramer does a kickass job? (quote from memory)

Nobody is bitching about performance in DOD or UT2004 afaik.
Halo for PC is really unoptimized, Call of Duty yields the usual 100ish fps on the pc's of today with a decent system and joint operations is lagless on some servers of 80ish players.
It's great to see people thinking a game is good because it has been written for a console using low-level programming. Get a life nerd, if a game runs well, what do you care how a coder has written it?
The fact is, HALO/HALO2 is great for people who are console-addicts but is just "another game" for us pc gamers. FPS games on consoles are behind their time compared to on the pc platform.
Imagine if BattleField 1942 came out first on the console with the same multiplayer experience, then Halo next to it would appear as "just another game". Currently, is there a game on xbox that is same genre as halo? Exactly, none.
On PC, you have BF1942, UT2004, MODS for UT2004, HL, MODS for hl, q3, MODS for q3... This is why halo sucks for us. We have so many choices of fps action because of modifications. They make the game last and give us a wide choice of different gameplays.
On Console, you got HALO, it remains HALO and always will be HALO. If on console you had Half Life (and think there is if not mistakeN0, it would remain Half Life, Not Day of Defeat.
Back then when it was new, I got one. Everybody was surprised that it was in color. Like everytime, Sega releases something totally "new" but end up getting beaten.

I can see it now, hobos doing door to door pretending to be "Blu-Ray Disc Inspectors", chewing every disc they see to see if its authentic and then have the BIG FEAST with all the other Blu-Ray Disc Inspectors.
But, when it comes to liquids and electronics, the average joe will say "ARe you crazy? I don't wanna destroy my Computer"
Deal with that. If you can, and in general it's not hard to convince somebody to go with water cooling, they will not regret it.
Usually water cooling kits, if the pieces are well selected, will last many years no matter which cpu you'll have. The worst would be you'd have to buy a new cpu block but some manufactures sell kits which can fit the very same waterblock on many types of sockets.

ATI doesn't pay much attention to the minority. They made promisses of future improvements in the dev of the drivers but it will take a while.
As for their 200 xpress chipset, I'l wait to see a few more reviews (not Toms Gayware) to be sure this chipset is what these benchmarks show.

This is why online stores like www.dtekcustoms.com sell heatercores at a price uncomparable to those expensif blackice radiators.
Or you can find a Lada on the street and help yourself with it.
