I could be wrong, but I think the 4th amendment only covers the specific case of searches and seizures by the government. To construe it as an amendment protecting our privacy in general is wrong.
Hahhaa. Good point.
The best part is how silly the moderation system is: I posted this same comment three times. Twice it was "offtopic" and once it was a "troll". Well, which is it? Just goes to show how arbitrary it all is.
P.S. I really did poop my pants.
I don't buy it. There are plenty of experiences I've had that are purely negative, that I'd rather forget. Things that make me more bitter, cynical, pessimistic than I need to be.
Exactly. If a site has great content, I'd be perfectly willing to pay a modest yearly subscription fee. Same goes for TV and movies, for that matter. I'll pay extra if it means I don't have to have my programs broken up by ads or wasting my time at the theater.
Then it would seem not worth it, unless you were seeing over 5-10% of time/comfort savings. Then again, some people just tweak for fun, and it's its own reward. (please mod me up for proper it's/its use!)
Shouldn't we be pushing for longer, more cerebral games--chess, Go, backgammon, etc.--to counteract the attention problems? Seems the priority is not on the kid's mental development but on the parent's schedule.

Strictly speaking, these aren't opposites. Opposites would be can or can't colonize and must or must not colonize.
I just pooped my cute little pants.
on a side note, why did it take it 930AM EST to get this up on /.
If you "worked" as a Slashdot editor, would you get up before 9 AM?
I think I have the answer you're looking for. How about an RSS-type standard for application updates?
All quite true, but please keep this in mind: if we start converting dark fiber into regular fiber, the universe might not remain stable.
You got a broken space bar or what?
Sir, that's the reducio ad abstractio fallacy.
Jakob Nielsen, is that you?

Hyperlink? Is that something you get with cyberspace? Neat-o! The future is here.
Resume seeding when you're not playing? Surely you won't be playing 24/7.
Sir, do you own stock in a bold font foundry?
That in five minutes you COULDN'T care less about. Don't use a phrase if you don't know how to use it.
You must be new here. ;-)
...when did you stop beating your wife?
Gladly, sir.

Ooh, look at me! I'm using a Google app. Aren't I special? This whole Google thing is getting old.
