I'm in the process of relocating and have been using my Droid4 with the Lapdock made for the Bionic as my only non 4 inch screen internet access device. It will likely be another two weeks until I can get my PC's back online. I paid $120 for the lapdock, much less than a new laptop. The phones could definately use more RAM; that would improve the performance. Also when VZW rolled out ICS the Webtop went to crap without Firefox and Flash. Of course I've installed those.
I only trusted the motel computers to print out files that I downloaded to the phone and then moved to a USB stick using the lapdock.
Three weeks in West Virginia and I have found a decent place to live and a union carpenter job.
Don't fuck with me, I build your house your office.....

I live in 27106. I've been working on a roof in Advance, NC. We start at 6-6:15 am. I fiigure +30 for temp on the roof over air temp. My crew is off the roof before it gets really hot. I think most US people are a bit spoiled; no ac, oh splinters on my deck, my pet is severe_condition, sometimes i hear my_child has severe_condition, will there be dust?
Geez lady! I am going to change out your front door! Of course there is going to be dust! And Yes the dreadful outside air is going to come inside your house! This is July so hot air will be going in; I can wait for it to rot out some more and do it the second week of November; just before Thanksgiving, that would be nice.
I left my back door, to the house, open twice this week. Kids, go get your knees scrapped, get some sketter bites, catch some lightening bugs. Humans can and do adjust; I think I'll go outside now.

These wars are being fought to keep people working which makes money for who? It's not about terrorism, it IS about MONEY.
Who makes those air conditioners? Who makes those generators? Who makes the bullets, mortar rounds, etc.? The US has what a million or so in uniform (who makes the uniforms?), it IS about the MONEY.
War is generally good for the economy but not so good for those being shot at on both sides.
How to have a good economic environment without killing each other has been and will continue to be an essential problem to solve.
In the US it varies by state; each state makes its own laws regarding voting machines based on HAVA 2002. NC has a pretty strong law. Getting software changes approved is a long and complicated process.
NC could not get an open source requirement passed in '05. But the compromise that resulted required vendors to supply their source code to a limited set. This was enough to run off the evil Diebold machines; they sued, lost and backed out of the bidding process; as did Sequoia, which was still in business at the time. We ended up with one vendor; ES&S. Their M-100 ballot scanner is a decent machine. With reasonable access control measures in place it is a secure voting device. The big problem I see with ES&S is their tabulation software; frankly it is terrible. I could change vote totals at will. The required audit would catch those changes but on election night I could send them up to the next level.
Current Federal and state law make updating the software illegal. I worry about the two counties I worked in as PrintElect tech support connecting their vote tabulator machines to the internet for OS updates. They run winxp. By law they are not supposed to ever be connected to the internet but small counties with small IT budgets who knows.
I agree problems should be addressed prior to election year but I doubt it will happen. Every state will vote with what they have in place now would be my bet.
The M-100 runs qnx.

Who cares? I have a BA in psychology. I graduated in 1981. I need a job.
Recent graduates should go to the end of the line while their parents go to the front of the line.
BUYER be Aware.
Is that enough said? Oh well it will make some more time for the MS admins out there.
I wonder if they don't just leave this crap out there to continue to support their partners?
I have over ten years on Linux as mostly a home user. I guess it is a case of "Stupid is as Stupid does".
Peace Yall.
eldavojohn please know that the AutoMark is a ballot marking device. It has nothing whatsoever to do with tabulating vote totals. Most likely this was a problem with the way the ES&S Unity software was configured.
That software (ES&S Unity) is what needs to have it's source code closely examined. From personal experience I can say that this software can be configured to count a given precincts votes multiple times. Imho this jurisdiction needs to improve some of its basic procedures; adding the total votes cast on each optical scan machine would have revealed the error by the vote tabulation software.
It a good simple game, available for most all mainstream os's.
My 9 year old grandson plays it with me twice a week. His mother regulates his time.

the warthogs are dead....
Ohio wants to remove the security risks of M-100's at the precinct level by moving to M-650's at one location. This does remove several security risks associated with the M-100's.
M-650's cannot detect the paper ballot's orientation.
-paper ballots have to be manually sorted and stacked in the same orientation.
M-650's are sensitive for such large machines.
-they need to be level and stay level as they operate.
M-650's will reject an over voted ballot because it's using the same ballot definitions as the M-100's (precinct level).
M-100's can detect the paper ballot orientation.
-votes on paper ballots get counted regardless of orientation of the ballot.
M-100's can detect over voted ballots.
-machine kicks the ballot out allowing the voter to correct their vote
-precinct procedure should include accounting for spoiled paper ballots
This centralized counting of paper ballots does not give a voter a chance to correct a mistake on an over voted ballot. A mistake that would be detected by M-100's if they were used at the precinct level.
I think Ohio is over reacting to it's own Everest study. Most of the security problems associated with the M-100's can be controlled by proper training of the poll workers and improved access control measures at the county or precinct level.
Ohio should look to how the M-100's have performed in North Carolina. But North Carolina has one of the strongest laws in the nation. And perhaps more trainable poll workers.

Seriously; next time walk through with a box of donuts, well maybe two times...once they get to know you they will leave you alone.
in Virginia; explain to me how that thing got there.
Whatever it is it was built with really cheap labor.
really a silly counter. I started in '98. I have had many computers since that first one so exactly what are the counting?
Library; it takes forever to get on one the computers at my local branch but they have a bunch of books. It comes free with your property taxes.
Board games: chess, checkers, monopoly, an old Avalon Hill wargame. I'll sell you a copy of "1776". Cards.
Buy copies of the books you refer to most often at the library.
yeah for 30 days until i had another. First pc was in '97 my second address is still "active" as a spam catcher.

Get off the computer(s) and change some diapers!
Maybe spend some time with the spouse as well to produce another child, or is a toy to you?
Get a grip man; nearly two is too soon *.*
I'd suggest some lego's for him. They will build spatial reasoning and manual dexterity; way too soon for a computer of any sort.
