Kinda like Halo. Did they really need a second one?
You know, founding the Tri-Lams would be great. I'm sure Slashdot and its user base could do it easily. I think we should. For fun is nothing else.
I, too, am a Lone Coder. But, I do believe that Love Coders are not dead. Merely...relocated. I do more commercial web applications in PHP/MySQL now than actual desktop applications. Stay strong my brothers.. well, and sisters, too, I guess.
It's that, and it seems that Dell has little to no knowledge of good hardware. This Dell I'm uses uses RDRAM. That alone is pretty bad judgement on Dell's part.
I could be wrong, but wasn't there a new copyright law passed in the US a couple years ago that allows you to copyright somthing just by saying so? As long as it's original, of course.
I wonder if they'll be surprised at the results... I think yes, because they're "high and mighty Microsoft." But then I think no, because Microsoft has a tendency to look down on the entire computer-using world.
Please Note: There
is currently a problem with the server on which the majority of the images linked here
are located. The new Apollo 11 scans, however, have been moved to an alternate server
and should be accessible via the links. This problem should be corrected soon.
Wasn't there a case with a mobile phone virus a couple years ago in Europe? It would spread when you called someone, or something like that. I'm really sure this isn't the first virus.
Yeah, I just noticed that question at the end. Goes to show how reading is a good thing.
I'd have to say the iPod headphone switch was a good move. But I don't think a laptop can be that easily concealed. Unless you have a cheap backpack or something, that'd about about all you can do to look inconspicuous. The most basic thing is to keep your stuff outta sight.
I tried the cheap look once. It works pretty well, I must say.

The solution to that is to build a CMS with one function: news. Then offer a modular setup to the functions in your list.

From a sysadmin point of view, Ensim is really good because it's so easy to deply. I've heard good things about HSphere as well.

Ah, another one of "those" programs. I usually use StreamRipper and it works great, but I'd prefer a GUI, actually. For once, anyway.

Spam has gotten so out of hands these days that I'm surprised it hasn't come to this. Would anyone be surprised if this suddenly happened?
I've actually noticed an increase. They're getting spam through SpamAssassin, now.
This is somewhat offtopic, but did anyone notice the last name of someone from Kill Bill? (ie, O-ren Ishii)
I've posted on /. from my ex-girlfriend's house before.

Noooo, this stuff is tainted!

I simply use Notepad. I've been using it for as long as I can remember and quickly became accustomed to it.

I've felt this way many-a-time during middle and high school. I used to have locks on EVERYthing to prevent my stuff from being stolen.
Yeah, I agree. People would complain. Then there's the crazy people who'd say the CIA's after them...
