I see a lot of complaints here, most of them valid. But why noone does anything about it? I mean do your own test on a hardware of your choice, send an invitation to microsoft to tune their OS, you tune yours, and both parties should choose half of the tests. And then publish the results. (GetTheRealFacts.com would be nice) I'd like to see them, probably others too. If you let microsoft publish only their goodfacts, sooner or later they will win non-professional (executive) minds, which is their goal, i suppose. That's all I have to say...
Linux is also utterly unreliable, untrustable... as botnet component, especially compared to other (great) OSes, like windows.
In other news, our win2000 server just broke it's uptime record: now it's 14 days! Not bad compared to RH7.2's 712 days....
but personally, I think there is NO way, this could actually speed up typing at all. Reasons:
- Alphabetical placing (opposing to the frequency-based) makes easier to find a letter, but anyone with a moderate typing skill does not need to find the keys, only to reach them.
- Cursor arrows in the middle (means you need two hands to navigate efficiently, and there is no way I could learn to play Doom 3 on that:))
- numeric keypad is removed, and each number requires 2 buttons to press: that's a huge disadvantage.
- No function keys. (maybe with a second key? maybe FNC-A equals F1, then Ctrl-Fnc-A equals Ctrl-F1) That's just lame.
- colors are actually good:)
You wish. In fact, english is one of the most simple languages... and that is the main reason that it is used all around the world.
Try learning hungarian or japanese, for example.

Microsoft asking money for what you have already paid for. Now they have economic intrest in creating faulty software, not just the usual negligence.
However if they'd provide this service for free, well THAT would be news.
