Not knowing the details of how the European numerical system works isn't being blind to the rest of the world. Believe it or not, the European numerical standards (the use of decimal points and commas) isn't common knowledge outside of Europe. To believe otherwise is to be elitist.

Yet. How long until people hire "private investigators" to investigate a crime and then pass the evidence onto the police? Sounds like a good thing. Until you realise that poor people can't afford this.

As the movie companies are paying for enforcing the law in this case yes, thats fine.

Ooooh. This just sits wrong with me. It's a case of the rich being able to afford to have laws upheld. Been raped and want the criminal brought to justice? Throw money at the system and it shall be done. Want a murderer to be brought to justice? If you're rich it will happen, if you're poor no-one cares.

b)For websites and the like, people will simply seek out free content which is available in quantity. Bob starts charging micropayments for his webcomic. Bob witnesses most of his readers disappearing into the woodwork. Jane, Sally, and Joe notice little bumps in their traffic logs.

Don't know much about webcomics do you? Several webcomic artists use a donations scheme and manage to get quite a few donations. Some actually charge for their content and guess what. People pay it. Some webcomic artists are able to LIVE off their webcomics. That's how much money they get.

To say people will just read other webcomics shows a lack of understanding of the webcomic industry. No, not all webcomics can do this, but some do. More could to with micropayments.

America went to war because it believed Iraq had WMDs. It claimed to know where the WMDs were depsite the UN not being able to find any. It's been 1 year and no WMDs have been found. Logical conclusion, there were no WMDs.

Saying Iraq was a problem and it had to be taken care of is beside the point. America went to war because of WMDs that don't exist. When America started the war, the WMDs were the reason used. Nothing else. You can't say afterwards we went to war for other reasons.
