I also don't know about the other words, since I'm too busy to get my old Latin dictionary out, but I'd wager to bet that they get declined in either the second or fourth declensions and have multiple plural endings (though I will give you that the plural nominative of fourth declension masculine and feminine forms are indentical, maybe this is what you're thinking of?)
Oh, and if a word is assimilited into a new lnaguage, the plural of that new language is far and away apporporiate for usage with the new word, especially when there is already a class of native nouns that function similarly when pluralizing but have entirely different endings -- the likelihood that the non-native nouns will ever form their own class in the new system is nil. Use some common sense.
I hope they run FreeBSD in lieu of Windows NT. We've only had about four stalled destroyers due to that operating system. They'll probably end up running something like QNX or VxWorks, though, which are realtime operating systems. Still much better choices than Windows NT/2K/XP.
I have to say they've changed a lot about the book, more than is noted above. It's more accuruate now, but it's kind of unnerving how many incorrect explanations of fluid dynamics and quantum mechanics slipped by last time.
A 700 MHz Celeron on a 8 GB/4500 RPM drive is hardly the "ultimate" multimedia PC. Maybe for 1994 it would have been, but even when it debuted it was at the lower end of what was conisdered a decent box. Nowadays it's woefully inadequate.
The Power Mac 9600/300 dual uses two Mach V PowerPC 604e processors most definitely not 603 chips. Mach V ate the PowerPC 603 and the early PowerPC G3 for breakfast.
