I like having a copies of (fiction) books on my computer while I'm reading the dead-tree versions. I do not enjoy flipping through previously-read pages trying to find something, knowing what side of the page it's on but not what chapter it's in.
I want virtual desktops that switch with Win+arrow! What did you have to install/tweak to get that? (I don't have virtual desktops at all, and I'm on WinXP.)
Since you used the phrase "reason to come to the movies early", can I infer that the ads you're complaining about finish around the time the movie is scheduled to start? What's wrong with having ads in place of coke-sponsored trivia slides? Or are you just complaining that the theater thinks people would actually come earlier to see the ads?
If I search Google for "Fast corporate crawler", the first hit is http://www.ibm.com/robots.txt! I've never seen a robots.txt turn up in search results before.
Dictionary.com has "a painful sore with a hard pus-filled core" and several more detailed definitions, all of which include the word "painful". But more importantly, it was one of the Plagues in the story of Exodus.
It is an official release -- it's even on the mozilla.org front page now. Here's the article I submitted to Slashdot (rejected):
Mozilla Firebird 0.6.1 is available (download). Asa Dotzler explained the reason for this intermediate release: "Firebird 0.6 had two major flaws that have been fixed for a while now - the autocomplete crasher and the DOM security bug that broke most cool bookmarklets (and probably websites too). We _need_ to get these fixes into the hands of 0.6 users as soon as possible." Firebird 0.6.1 is based on the Mozilla 1.5 alpha branch, giving us time to avoid having major regressions in 0.6.1. If you're still using Internet Explorer, now is a great time to switch.
Factor in the number of times those titles are distributed over the Internet, and the damage amounts skyrocket.
Factoring in the number of times each file is downloaded only makes the damages skyrocket if you use pyramid-scheme math. Ignoring leechers and rippers, the number of people who have downloaded a given file is equal to the number of people who are hosting it, so on average, each host has distributed 1 copy of each file.
It's propoganda and they make a conscious effort to use it whenever they talk about copyright infringement. Read any LA Times article about file-sharing, and you'll see at least one quote where the RIAA/MPAA person uses the word "stealing" or "theft". They don't argue that copyright infringement is theft, or present it as something that can be argued. They simply refer to the infringement as theft.
As an example, here's the closing quote of an article called "House Bill Aims to Up Stakes on Piracy":
"When someone makes available to 300 million people a new movie I think it's a pretty fair assumption that at least 10 copies are going to be downloaded," said Fritz Attaway of the Motion Picture Assn. of America. "And when somebody does that, that's grand theft."
Never mind that the law he's trying to "clarify" with a new bill is a copyright law, that "grand theft" is a legal term, or that his "pretty fair assumption" is what pyramid schemes are made of.
Incidentally, the new black on dark blue Slashdot theme looks terrible. The black border around the page doesn't help, either, although that may be due to weak support for Mozilla.
It's not new, it's just the Games section. Compare:
I could give you a sample line from my Windows hosts file, but I don't know if Linux uses the same format, whether you have to do anything after making a change to the file, etc. Ask Google.
Try the "Flash click to view" Firebird extension from http://ted.mielczarek.org/code/mozilla/. It prevents Flash animations from playing until you click on them, so you can enjoy Strong Bad without being subjected to next-generation animated ads, pop-ups, and those full-screen transparent ads that make cars drive through your monitor.
Score:1, Redundant
Can I mod your moderator as funny?

Win+D is useful for dragging things from maximized windows to the desktop. I use Win+R ("run") all the time.

What do you mean by "time of year (August)"? I doubt Mars weather follows an Earty-yearly pattern...
I don't think that's a SSN. SSNs are 3-2-4. The number on his badge is 3-3-4, probably a telephone number.
How do I block all crawlers except Googlebot from my site?
But as other posters mentioned, expect spammers to ignore or abuse robots.txt. Do you really want to be left out of Altavista, Alltheweb, etc?
If I search Google for "Fast corporate crawler", the first hit is http://www.ibm.com/robots.txt! I've never seen a robots.txt turn up in search results before.
Why don't you want Google to make its cache of your pages available to searchers?
What's a boil?

Why does that work? Why don't telemarketers press 5?
Is that safe? If they already have your address, couldn't they start sending you the newspaper based on your "yes"?

Alt+F4 and Ctrl+W close one window, at most. Ctrl+Q closes all windows owned by the same .exe (why???).

I've been seeing a lot of firebird checkins lately (past 3 weeks or so).
I have a similar machine and I find Mozilla Firebird to be fast enough.
I just don't let it do crap i don't like (move/resize windows, remove my bars, close windows, etc) and suddenly, javascript is fine with me.
Start using bookmarklets and you might even end up liking JavaScript!
What does "foxing a show" mean?

I was in a "special education" class during elementary school because I'm a geek, so I'm confused by you using it as an insult.
