    If it's in a known and common chip on the control board couldn't someone just replace the chip?

    I regularly work with surface mount ICs and there are solutions to remove and replace virtually any device.

    If you're lucky the webcam won't have an IR blocking filter.

    You may want to check it with a remote (or just put your IR passing filter in front of it) before you take it apart.

    I don't know what is in the boxes they are using, but the http://lavarnd.org/ project is a high quality randon number generator you can easily build.

    In fact, I usually recommend dusting every six months... do that with the case sealed.

    That's what case windows are for.

    Actually yes. I mouse with my left hand as my right hand hurts whenever I use it to mouse.

    Can they be easily remapped to reasonable locations without messing up any of the other keyboard usability.

    Most people arn't serious gamers and they don't do *any* number crunching ever.

    Most people don't need schlockloads of power.

    Don't assume that your needs and the needs of your friends represent the things that everybody needs.

    The Mini is targeted squarely at the nice folks in the majority who might want to replace thier computer and who already have a monitor.

    I want to see a single klik way to transparantly upgrade my parent's WinME box to Linux. Not because they have lots of trouble with it, it's just because it's WinME.

    That's one thing that annoys me about most paper and dice RPGs, there isn't any way look at the materials and give them a good try unless you know some gamers or have the willingness to shell out cash for something that you might not use again.
