Microsoft gives you one more reason to switch to Mac OSX or Ubuntu.

Ubuntu is not an OS. Ubuntu is a distribution. Linux is the OS.
Hate it when people mix that up. So instead of Ubuntu, you can also use RedHat, openSUSE, Debian, Slackware or any of the other operating systems out there. (Including BSD)

So please stop using Ubuntu as a synonym for Linux or give back your geek card.

I do not think there needs to be a rethink of the roles. Please no PC anymore then there already is. Men and women are different and that is a GOOD thing. Diversity is good.

I can imagine that some people who do not want unwanted offspring will take them. This depends on the other side effects more then on the shrinkage of the scrotum.

For now the alternative between taking them and not taking them is that a man still has the option of walking away. A women does not have that chance and will have the scar of life of a legal abortion or the reminder of what happened in her life with her child as a result. Either that or take a pill? Some choice.

30USD a month? That is expensive. In Belgium I pay what I actually use. I don't use my phone very often and if I do, it is basically to send an SMS to see somebody in a bar and talk to them.

I am using about 10-15EUR per month and that includes 5 EUR for data (50GB, 500GB would be 10 EUR). The starter costs 10 EUR. http://www.simyo.be/en/home and gives you 10 EUR worth of calling. I am thinking of not using data anymore as I never use up the 50GB and am more closer to 2-3GB and that is because I do some stoopid searches when I am with friends. Nothing I can live without.

I do a top-up whenever I need it and that is about once every two or three months. Once did a 50EUR top up and it lasted me bit more then 4 months. Top ups are valid for one year, so it is also ideal if you only have incoming calls and do a top up for 5 EUR a year as there are no costs for incoming calls (hook up to e.g. a PC to do things when receiving an sms)

I understand that this will not be an option for everybody, but for me 30USD (25 EUR) per month would be expensive.

Also no ongoing contract, real pay per usage and if I switch operators, I take my number with me at no cost. Switched operators in the last 5 years a few times and still have the same number.

See that you have a job that allows you to be with them instead of working all the time.

Wherever you go, there will be upsides and downsides. When you just arrive, all will be great, until you start to miss small things, like food. Also: have an open mind and try not to compare how things are done differently then what you are used to.

And once you have a family, don't move again after they are 12. That is when they will start their own youth and memories. It is not nice moving away at hat age from the comfort of their world.

I know people from all over the world. My family lived all over the world and only after a lifetime can you say if you lived a good life.
