You live in a home all your life. On average renting will be more expensive because as an owner you need to pay the loan. So somebody who rents out wiil also get that money back. And at the end the owner still has a house, a renter does not. Otherwise selling would be wiser. There will be exceptions in both directions.
I would say tht he is EXTREMELY competent to be able to get this done against the will of everybody. Does not mean that I agree with what he does, be he does it well. He does what he was paid to do (by the companies).
I have used Firefox since Netscape 1.0 thgat came on a floppy with my first Internet Access to be installed on Windows 95 (without IE). I recently started to use Chromium, because it has happened way to often now that plugins don't work when they do an update, including Firefox ESR. It gets a bit tiresome to seach for ones that work
The two things that I miss is: 1) No tabs in the favorites 2) Warning about my selfs signed website at home
Things that did not work in the latest Firefox ESR : about 7 plugins I really, really like and use. There might be alternatives now, but the last 4 times I needed to look for alternatives is not a good thing.
These type of shows do not exist. Not for IT, not for anything else. Brooklyn 99 is NOT about the Police in Brooklyn, NY. NCIS is not about the NCIS. All those hospital shows are note about hospitals.
They are just there to have some place people get together to interact. Not enough people identify with IT people, so they do not care.
All shows are about human interaction. If you would need to name one, take "Chuck" or any other and just change the jobtitles.
Nice that you point all these things out that it is close to working in IT while it has nothing to do with IT. It could also be used as working in the Sales department or accounting or in any other department.
It makeit clear that the IT department is not special. It is just another department that is needed to run a company. If it would not be needed, it would not excist, just like any other department. Even the ones you hate.
So why the prescription? I live in Belgium and never needed a prescription for them if I wanted to buy them. I can easily buy them online. Does that mean that if I bring them into the US I am a drug dealer? Better not tell the TSA, because they are going to feel up even more people.
Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with power. Who's gonna do it? You? You, #4687763? I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for Net Neutrality and you curse the TSA. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know; that Net Neutralities death, while tragic, probably saved money.
And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, *saves money (for a few companies)*. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that firewall. You need me on that firewall. We use words like hacking, code, money. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it! I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a computer and stand a post.
Either way, I don't give a *damn* what you think you are entitled to!
Correlation is not causation. Perhaps porn entices people to have MORE sex and thus more children on a global scale. Without research this means nothing.
The last time I went to a bank was to open an account. Well, I had to present myself so they knew I existed. Took about 10 minutes. Could be done during lunch hour. But perhaps that is all because I use the metric system.
Amazon will have the ability to pay extra. They just charge their customers one cent more and it will even out. For the small store that has an online order system, this won't be the case. They need to increase their price with 100cent or even more to have a fast website. That is from the stores. Amazon can easily pay and many smaller hosting providers won't be able to do that, so instead of hosting at a local ISP, people are driven to Amazon.com
Sure they moan now as nobody likes increases, but as long as they pay less in increase than the competition, all is well.
Netflix might be different, as they are already competing with the mothers of the ISPs. So they will have to pay a LOT extra and that might just put enough people off to put them out of business or be sold to any of the ISPs motherships.
I think I need to re-read Snow Crash again and concentrate less on the IT part of it. From that page: The story begins in Los Angeles in the 21st century, an unspecified number of years after a worldwide economic collapse. Los Angeles is no longer part of the United States, as the federal government of the United States has ceded most of its power and territory to private organizations and entrepreneurs.
Even at 11, you should not borrow to invest in stocks, unless you are able to pay back that loan when things go bad.
Hindsight means that you would have been able to gain if you sell now. But if you don't and it goes to 5 or 0, you still would have lost all the money you loaned or borrowed from that nice Sicilian guy.
Listening does not mean "do what they want". Obviously you should get some keyusers (expert users) provide input.
I never said it would be easy. You need to include all from the start. Even perhaps finding the right vendor.Just understanding how often some things are needed will change how you do things and the manager has no fucking clue about how the people work in detail, nor is that his job to know.
Yes, it will need time and working with other humans. I have done it. It is not that bad and the result is so much better than to just ask for a list of things people want and then do the best you can.
Seen this several times. A new software and/or hardware solution for some reason. Then just implementing it without asking users.
So much easier if you ask users. They will explain how it will be used, saving a lot of time later as well as moaning. On a more important level.these key users will sell it to the rest as it is "their" project.. thus less moaning.
I have a PC with a Bios that tries to do everything, launching a bootloader that tries to do everything, to start a DesktopManager that treis to do everything, so I can run a browser that tries to do everything to see a website that tries to do everything.
And to think I started with Linux, because each thing had its own program and I could select what program did it.
OTOH if it goes down by 100% in the next week, you will be kicking yourself as well. Hindsight is 20/20. If I only had played that lotto numbers I saw on TV, I would have turned 2,50EUR into 25.000.000EUR.
It went up 4.000USD in 1 hour. Going down will be even faster. And if you are not awake and sell above buying price, the few minutes it takes could mean the difference between stepping out rich and getting out broke, having lost all you invested.
I wish you and everybody else their wealth. I trust it less than the average share on Wallstreet.
On a non-related point, are you interested in Tulips?
They go after plenty of larger European companies as well and fine them. Most of the time they stop doing illegal shit after the first warning.

That is because the cake is a lie.

YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!

Too much work. Just say that Obama wanted the opposite.
Correlation is not causation. Perhaps porn entices people to have MORE sex and thus more children on a global scale. Without research this means nothing.
He is literally worse than Hitler, because Hitler at leased believed he was doing it for good. He was wrong, but at least he believed he was right.
The repeal of Net Neutrality will work great.
Just like Trickle Down Theory.
Abtrinance is a great way to prevent youth getting pregnant
Do we have others?
The last time I went to a bank was to open an account. Well, I had to present myself so they knew I existed. Took about 10 minutes. Could be done during lunch hour.
But perhaps that is all because I use the metric system.
Why? Money. On the short term it will cost and not enough people think, let alone care, about long-term.
You forgot tp mention Mossad and the NSA and all others.

Drinking age is a state law. The states are just blackmailed into setting it at 21.

I don't have a problem with the idea of comunism. That does not mean it works.
No, they are not. Otherwise we would not have people in debt.
