See this as a jumping point to a smaller company where you WILL get respect. In the big 4, you aren't focusing on technology. Our R&D are more focused on industry issues, rather than technology. Some of our largest apps still use .Net 1.0. And we have no need to go 2.0. Basically, do it for the pay, do it for the experience. Then move on. It takes a certain type of person to work for a big 4. It is your life. Are you ready for it?

I played from beta to about 2004 and things were a little more exciting then, I think maybe more players have hurt the game as it gets harder to topple an alliance. It used to be large groups would build war machines in secret then take out empires on the weekends.

Almost every event in that game is player organized. And when it's not, the GMs come in and play characters and create events that shape the content and the game. Nations rise and fall in Eve, because it's all player driven. Ask Eve players why they think the concept is better. Especially ask the people who still play after like 4-5 years.

Personally, most of my guild won't bother killing another player unless it yields honor. Once someone doesn't yield honor, you're gonna kick thier ass.

Lots of people are jerks and have no outlets for being jerks.

And on a side note...why a paladin? That's a class for total pussies. Plate, low mana costing heals, ability to use strong weapons and a shield that has NO DAMAGE LIMIT AND IS NON DISPELLABLE.... When I see a pala, I just walk away, not worth my effort.
