LA is a crap city for tourists, but people fail to realize that if you're part of the wealthy elite, Los Angeles has more to do than anywhere else on the west coast. Sure, it's a cesspool, but it's also full of variety and culture.
I just went down, down, down... down, down down...... and then, when it seemed like I was at the bottom of whatever cavernous 8-bit place I was in, there were more cliffs to umbrella float down, down, down...
At no point in earth's history has climate stood still. At no point in earth's history has all life been wiped clean from it. The earth is fine; if people go the way of the dinosaur, then so be it.
Well, I think wireless works very well for me. While I admit that my access point could be reached by a cable easily, it would be horribly inconvenient. Anything that removes more wires and cables from my life is a very useful thing.
While there are probably less than half of the original Verant developers still working at SOE, you have to understand that the guys who made the big design decisions are still at SOE. The acquisition did not result in the firing of all the old Verant staff... Sony Pictures America just purchased Verant and changed the name.
I think there are enough stupid criminals to make e-mail monitoring worthwhile. Plenty of people have been fired/prosecuted because of stupid usage of internal e-mail.
You wouldn't consider hiring folks to monitor e-mail if your firm suffered public embarrassment or lost business due to leaked information. While I agree that it is sad that employers don't feel that they can trust their employees, I honestly cannot blame them.
SOE is always looking for a bigger slice of the pie. If they can be hypocritical enough to open a sanctioned auction site after years of banning players for auctioning things off in their games, they will do anything. Be prepared for a whole new breed of micropayment based MMORPGs.
Would you like to loot this UberSword of Might +7? That will be $0.10, tyvm.
I am curious why this AC's comment was modded troll. Is Debian's release cycle truly so slow that what appears to be an honest curiosity is modded as a troll?
I'm not sure what you're blathering on about, but all I said was a simple truth: straight people often get married, planning to have children and raise a family. Those children are their genetic offspring.
I don't know what I said that you got so hot and bothered about.

This is the only comment that should even be made in regards to this story.
Excellent reply, my good man.
giveaway?
Where has Nintendo stated that they plan on giving away games?
"Wouldn't they just get a 18+ friend to buy some cheap beer for them?"
In America, you need 21+ aged friends to buy cheap beer.
I never beat it either.

10 millennia isn't even worth mentioning when you're discussing climate change.
I say again, at no point in earth's history has climate stood still.

Same company, different owner.
... SOE continues running one retarded marketing campaign after another.
SOE can't make a good MMO anymore.

b******s?

Inflation refers to the increase of prices as a whole in the economy. It is a measure of the average increase, not of particular markets.
Inflation is not a misnomer for the trend to compensate for when rating gas prices today versus their price 20 years ago.

... there will be an MMORPG based upon popular talk show host, Conan O'Brien.
In the year 2000...
Wow, you're pathetic.

A good, stable environment in which to raise their genetic offspring?
It's a reference to this week's excellent episode of The Office.
(for all the Brits hating on the US version: we don't care)
No.
Your post is "-1, flamebait" because it's standard form Slashdot knee-jerk whining, done in typical grandiose, final stand fashion.
No.
Yes you did.
You put an apostrophe in Americans. You typed: American's.
Well, sunny weather gets old. And who doesn't like to travel?
