  1. 2 cents on Clash of the GPL and Other IP Agreements? · · Score: 1

    My code was derived from code I got from IBM's Developer Works website and also ActiveState's website; all of which was released under the GPL. I made a lot of additions to the software of my own, but the parts from the above sources were integral pieces and without them, my code wouldn't work.

    If the code you wrote was released under the GPL prior to your being hired by this company, then I would think the GPL license supersedes the IP agreement you signed. However, IANAL.

    If they're violating the GPL, that's not very nice of them. I would talk to a lawyer who specializes in IP first, just to find out what the situation is. You'll have to decide for yourself, though, whether blowing the whistle on them is worth the possible consequences (being fired, countersuit of some kind, etc.).

    Having gotten that mystical figure how does the BPI calculate the percentage that Joe Bloggs, as a member of the X sharing group, was responsible for?

    If you've never seen good claymation, you should defintiely go rent/buy all of the W&G videos, and get a copy of Chicken Run also.

    For claymation, I highly recommend Celebrity Deathmatch , particularly the older episodes with the de facto king (or is it queen?) of CDM, Marilyn Manson.

    They were using it with a USB connection. FireWire != USB.

    If it were not for that license, slashdot would not have had Linux as a sub-topic and Apache would not be having the standing it has on the web.

    You're right, without the GPL bringing Linux to /., all we'd have to talk about would be Google and Apple.
