I realize this is CURRENTLY a voluntary download. But how long until it's part of the Kazaa downloader? We know Kazaa will do it for enough money, and to prove that there are "Legitament" reasons for using their program. And the payed version won't have it so you can download all the free copyrighted material you want for only $39.99.

Thank you, please pass the torrents.

Well (I haven't seen the movie yet) but from what I've read and heard. Douglas N. Adams (may he rest in piece) had EVERY script he gave to disney turned down. They wanted to do the movie. But they didn't seem to like his ideas for it. I just hope it's good enough that DNA would approve.

  6. Re:Um. on Ask 'Hitchhiker's Guide' Exec. Producer Robbie Stamp · · Score: 1

Actually, from what I heard, Adams had very little to do with this version. Considering the first 3 scripts written were turned down (See The Salmon Of Doubt for more on this). They wouldn't have enough "appeal" for the masses. It was only after he died that the movie company finaly got a script they liked. :S

Now my question. Having heard the radio series (multiple times) read the books (multiple times) and even having gotten a kick out of the few shows from the TV series, how true is it to the.... um... Douglassy feel that all of DNA's work has? More appropriately, would his friends appreciate it?

I personally have a Rio MP3 player. Called the Rio Karma. It's small, functional and does something most MP3 players don't. Supports the Open Source OGG format. When comparison shopping OGG was a requirement, since I didn't want to re-rip most of my music collection. iPod, Sony, RCA, and Creative MP3 players don't support OGG/Vorbis, Rio and iRiver do, and Rio has more features on the player, such as the DJ which can play your favorite (most played) songs from any Genre you want. Or have it select songs for you from all genres. It even *Attempts* to go from heavy music, to slightly "lighter" music and then build back up so you're not going from Slayer to Goo Goo Dolls back to back.

  10. The question is.... on XGI, VIA Release Open Source Drivers · · Score: 1

What difference does it make if drivers are open source or proprietary?

1st of all, Since nVidia (or ATI, or VIA) made the card, I'm pretty sure they know best how the hardware works and therefore they should know how to make the drivers.

2nd, I'd be scared of having some serious issues with OSS drivers. For the same reasons talked about above.

3rd, I don't care if the drivers are OSS, if it lets me use my device (not just vid cards, and drivers) and it's stable then what more do I need?

4th, isn't there a LSB on drivers? If there is, as long as they all meet the standards, why does X.org need the source code in order to use the video card "properly" sounds like X.org is the one with the issues.

5th, how many forks of the drivers would you be happy seeing? I mean there's like 8 Red Hat forks, so, and lord knows how many debian forks... would you like everybody to start making forks of the drivers? I'll re-code it so that left is really right, and up is really down, and call it the "Erehwon Edition"
