    sending sensory signals remotely to ones brain is a scary thought
    as far as making blind see again, so far it involves attaching cameras to your optic nerves, and they are making some progress in this field also

    here in estonia we already have this, a major broadband company is providing a service where you can watch shows and movies from the local tv stations, they will up your bandwith for the streaming and the charge will be added to your cable bill

    I can't see any way this preventing kidnapping, you only know the time when the kid passed the last chekpoint
    to prevent kidnappings you need system where your location is tracked by the goverment/police 24/7

    to me this seems like a crappy solution to a problem that really did not exist, they go on and on abot kidnappings and say that there haven't been any, and if someone really wants to kidnap then there is nothing stopping him

    I installed firefox and thunderbird on my gf's moms machine after some incidents with viruses and all the security threaths there have been she has not been happier,
    all she uses her computer is for banking and email
    she was even willing to consider linux

    I'm 21 and don't find the gaming scene very inviting I prefer reliability on my machine over the abity to play
    the only thing I do play is a mud from time to time

    it migt be because most of the people using linux/mac are not avid gamers but designers/developers who don't play much

    the sales of linux/mac games will rise when there are more gamers on these platvorms and there won't be more gamers before there are more games
    I know several people who use linux for everything but still keep a windows box around for gaming

    I don't miss any games on the mac, I for one actually work on it
    but more games on the mac might make some people consider switching

    actually it would be nice if the gaming industry would start making cross platvorm games easily compileable on any platform, everyone would win

    don't know how other goverments handle this but here in estonia some goverment organisations don't connect their networks to the internet, all employees have 2 computers one for the sencitive data in the central network and for internet and other stuff
