Yes lets give all out opportunities to foreign workers, so they wont go home.. I mean those workers we grew ourselves just suck.
But that's the thing - we grew both of them. Both of them went to an American school. All this is attempting to do is prevent them from just taking their education and leaving.
I read this discussion differently. We're talking about people trained in American schools and therefore I'm assuming that when they graduate they are of the same caliber as anyone else who graduates from an American school.
I get paid more then most people and it is because of my hard work and dedication. I'm white and American and I've NEVER had a problem finding a job. If you have issues maybe you should try to learn some more to make yourself more valuable instead of wasting time on/. complaining that people don't reward your lazyness.
The idea isn't to cut wages. The idea is plainly stated to keep the brightest that we train in this country (America). The idea is that we want smart people in the country and currently they are leaving the country for better opportunity elsewhere.
This is such a stupid point to make.
If you could have your driveway paved the EXACT same way with the EXACT same quality for $2500 or $3500 which would you pick?

I don't agree with the second one. If they spent time and money researching something but then decided not to use it right away it's still their right to have the patent.
Do you really feel that car bombs are just police work? Let me try to rephrase it for people that are living comfortably: if two car bombs went off in New York city and killed eight, would you just shrug that off as normal everyday police work?
You can liken it to going out to eat food. It's cheaper and more comfortable to do either at home, but sometimes you just need to get out and spending a few extra bucks now and then is not the end of the world.
I'm going to go out on a limb... from just the summary it would appear that this has very little to do with actions from Apple and has to do with actions from AT&T. If we were required to pick a 'bad guy' in this situation the choice would clearly be AT&T. However, everyone knew it was just a matter of time before tiered data plans started and unlimited stopped as it just makes sense.
Yeah no...I get it...free and cheap is nicer...but I'd rather have the tiered data plan then have them go out of business and have nothing.
b) You walk on the shoulder opposite the flow of traffic (so you can see what's coming).
You're supposed to walk on the traffic to your back so the driver can more easily see you. They need to make a decision much quicker then you and then seeing you is more important then you seeing them.
I have heard this as well. I also heard the cockpit door was supposed to stay closed the entire time of the flight, which is why I was dis-heartened the last time I was on a plain and I saw them freely opening the cockpit door.
Everyone really needs to start getting over themselves. XP is an old OS and is not nearly as secure as Vista.
The quirks people complain about in Vista are usually because of the software development company not adherring to the SDK for Vista. I've seen very few legitimate complaints about Vista.
As has already been stated by many users this is not an arguement about the quality of Vista this is an arguement about the quality of IT/Sys Admin Professionals. I for one salute the IT/Sys Admin Professionals at whatever school this is (UPenn...Penn State...who know, who cares:P).
As for people who've installed Vista SP1 and have had multiple driver issues this is no ones fault but your own. SP1 is not pushed as a critical update on all machines and yours was probably one of them. This means that your computer doesn't meet the requirements (in this case proper drivers) of SP1. You should have checked everything before installing it.
One thing to note about engineering (lets think about electrical engineering for x86), we have a lot more to learn then someone 10 years ago who was working with x86 (286s, I believe...but that's just a random guess because I know it's old) and such. We didn't learn a good foundation (everything at the time) and then spend the next 10 years creating/staying knowledgable in the advances. We have to learn all these major, new advances in addition to the foundation that an electrical engineer got 10 years ago. It's such a difficult field because of it's quick pace and new technologies. We went from having 4 registries to having numerous (at still growing) number or registries, in addition to caches, and everything else electrical.
It's a lot more difficult for someone to start out now in electrical engineering then it used to be, and it's a lot more difficult to do electrical engineering then any other engineering degrees b/c of the fast pace of electronics.
NOTE: Later half of last sentence is an opinion with limited knowledge.

*nix machines are effectively immune to viruses.
Just a note for anyone reading these comments - the parents statement is made up and not true.
Thank you for your time.
None of those are traditionally online. The argument is about the online perception.

I don't have any mod points so I thought I'd just let you know:
Your comment was funny and appreciated.

Yes. [1]

It's probably important to note that it may not have been his decision to release the information to the public.

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news...but Windows 7 has UAC as well. Sorry :(
not for nothing...but you're doing a study of 200 people on a network of 350 million...kind of small study...
Possible reasons:
1) Research
2) Using the internet to communicate between government buildings/departments
3) Being a part of the 21st century

I agree completely. You either need to be really selective for the course or keep the course really basic.
