    AIM, just like AOL's browser, has just been getting worse and worse with each new version. Although I don't use AOL I've seen the latest version they have, it's awful. With every new version they add more bloat, and more ads.

    I recently got my circle of friends to change from using AIM to Skype, it even has IM functions for the few people who don't have a mic.

    I still have Gaim installed, but I rarely use it now.

    You just pointed out the main reason why OSS with it's current do it yourself, elitist attitude will never be able to make much headway into main stream usage.

    Without a central figure you get what Linux is now, dozens of fractured distros catering to niche groups.

    The plan for OSS for this decade should be consolidation. Without a central authority it will continue to fail and fracture.

    Mod me a troll or flamebait if you like, but you know what I'm saying is true. The OSS movement has a lot of potential, it's a shame that's it's being wasted by pride and zealotry.

    And why is that a bad thing? Doesn't the GPL use existing law to try and enforce the intent of copyright, while copyright law in general has become too twisted and meaningless to be useful?

    The whole system is b0rked. If the record companies didn't control the distribution outlets, artists wouldn't have to sign, then they would be free to choose how their music is distributed.

    It's not that the ban system is buggy, it's that there is no ban system. They simply see if you tried to use an invalid key and ban all your games, not just the offending title.

    Yeah you missed the part where hundreds of people are being banned for no reason, or because they used a No-CD crack, or tried (unsuccessfully) to use a banned CD key.

    Hundreds of people are being ripped off and there are a lot of people defending it, it sickens me.

    Anyone catch CNN around 7:00PM-7:30PM? A guy was standing outside of the window, behind the hosts, his shirt had written on it, "Fuck This Shit" all clearly visible for a good 15 seconds before they cut away. Then, they went back to the same shot with him in it!
