Heaven forbid people wish to keep something they associate themselves with from having a bad connotation. Especially when it did not always have such a bad one.
When you can buy a CD at a record store and only pay for the songs you want from that particular album, get back to me.
Alright, getting back to you. I can get a custom burned CD at a local record store. Just the songs I want.

This might mean something if it wasn't posted AC...
A parent could give a child $20 and within two days that money's gone
Honestly, if I were to give a kid $20 for a week's worth of lunch? Well, thats all he'd get. I'd make it very clear to him that if he spent it in two days, that's his problem, not mine.
Honestly, one minor detail might be slightly different, and you're declaring now that its going to be crap? Bravo, you must be a fanboy. One that can see the future.
...so then it could power itself. By George, I do believe you've figured out perpetual motion!
Seriously, think about it. Wouldn't that make the efficiency greater than 100%?
Quite true. Obviously, no 3rd-party seller of in-game resources can survive being undercut by the system administrators, who can accomplish the equivalent of MONTHS of gil-farming with a single command-line.
If I understand it correctly, Sony isn't actually selling the items or gold directly. Nothing is created in the transaction. They are just giving people a way to safely do their business.
In other words, IGE should still be able to make money from farming. Now they just have to compete with (or just use) Sony's marketplace, which may effect their profits.
You're kidding right? I've got the same specs except for a 733 MHz proc. Runs everything but the most recent games just fine. Hell, it even ran the Tribes:Vengeance beta smoother than Tribes 2.
For a long while, I used Azureus. Then I tried out uTorrent. I found uTorrent to be superior software by far. Guess which client I use now.
Open source is great, but I'm not going to use inferior software so I can feel a little warm and fuzzy. I'm going to use the one that works.
Don't mean would-be tax evaders?
Always looked like MacOS to me.
I think I'll take the art in Hellboy over this.

Well... Slashdot needs an extra moderation item - -1 [misinformed, misguided and never been outside South Carolina].
Did you really need to put that troll in? Cheap shots are well and good, but I think you could've done without.

Reminds me of a short story I read once. "Simple Tricks" by Chris Cassidy and Tish Pahl.
Apparently scamming people into think you're a Jedi is a good way to make money.
You sir, are a whiner.

"I don't recall."
Well if you don't live in America, then it don't apply to you. Seems simple enough.
Is there really any demand for a web accelerator anymore? Dialup is slowly dying, and I don't really feel the need to speed up my DSL connection.
But you have to maximize your gaming time! You wouldn't want to waste time with boring websites like Slashdot.

They have pork rind buffets? Like... an entire buffet of pork rinds?
Why wasn't I notified?

They can't be bothered and/or don't care. I'm willing to bet thats 9/10s of it.
Doubleclick.com has an interesting 24 page PDF...
That just seems unpossible. Seriously, 24 pages about banner ads and popups?
The herd could use a little thinning anyway.
I knew my Y2K shelter would come in handy. Who has all the Spam now!?
Sure, but what about Everything2?
I found that long before I found Wikipedia.
